Keep Showing Up: Be Resolute
Steadfast. Immovable. Always Abounding. - July 8, 2026
Sometimes the instruction is not complicated.
Keep showing up.
Not only when you feel strong.
Not only when you are rested.
Not only when everything is working.
Not only when people understand what God has called you to do.
Sometimes obedience looks like getting up again and saying:
“Lord, I am still here.”
During this livestream, one word became the centerpiece of the message:
RESOLUTE.
RSL
The message began through something incredibly ordinary.
I noticed the letters RSL on a license plate.
Those letters caught my attention, and I felt prompted to look up the word resolute.
Resolute means determined, unwavering, steadfast in purpose.
And suddenly the message became clear.
Be resolute.
We understand commitment when it comes to our jobs. We show up because we have responsibilities.
We show up for our families.
We show up for appointments.
We show up when somebody is depending upon us.
But what about when God is depending upon our obedience?
There will be days when you do not feel like doing what God called you to do.
Show up anyway.
There will be days when you feel tired.
Show up anyway.
There will be resistance.
Show up anyway.
There will be distractions.
Show up anyway.
There may even be moments when you wonder whether what you are doing matters.
Keep showing up.
Steadfast. Immovable.
1 Corinthians 15:58 became a foundational scripture for this message:
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”
Steadfast.
Unmovable.
Always abounding.
That does not describe a believer controlled by circumstances.
It describes someone whose heart has been settled.
I belong to Jesus.
I have decided to follow Him.
And I am not turning back.
Being resolute does not mean you never become tired.
It means tiredness does not become your master.
It does not mean you never experience emotions.
It means emotions do not get the final vote on your obedience.
Why Do We Keep Showing Up?
Because there are souls on the other side of our obedience.
Jesus called His disciples to become fishers of men.
That mission continues.
There are people who need to hear what Jesus has done in your life.
There are people who need prayer.
There are people who have never heard the Gospel clearly.
There are people who believe they have gone too far for God to receive them.
And sometimes God may place one of them directly in front of you.
Will you be ready?
Know your testimony.
Know the Gospel.
Know how to tell someone about Jesus.
Know how to pray with someone who wants to surrender his or her life to Christ.
We are praying for billions of souls, but billions are reached one person at a time.
One conversation.
One testimony.
One prayer.
One act of obedience.
One soul.
And then another.
This Gospel Has Power
During the livestream, I used the phrase “cutesy gospel.”
What I was confronting was Christianity reduced to appearances while neglecting the transforming power and truth of the Gospel.
The Gospel is beautiful—but it is not powerless.
Jesus saves.
Jesus delivers.
Jesus transforms.
Jesus reconciles people to God.
The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live differently.
We do not have to dilute the Gospel to make it acceptable.
Neither do we need to make ourselves harsh or unloving in order to speak truth.
We can carry truth and love together.
The Word Is Our Weapon
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.
The Word reaches places human arguments cannot reach.
It exposes motives.
It penetrates the heart.
It separates truth from deception.
This is why we must know the Word for ourselves.
When darkness presents itself, return to the Word.
When fear speaks, return to the Word.
When confusion speaks, return to the Word.
When circumstances contradict what you believe God has spoken, return to the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in truth.
We do not fight spiritual battles merely with emotions or opinions.
We stand upon the Word of God.
Walking in Christ’s Authority
Luke 10:19 records Jesus speaking to His disciples about authority over the power of the enemy.
Our confidence is not in ourselves.
Our authority is found in Christ.
That means spiritual authority should never produce arrogance.
It should produce dependence.
The closer we walk with Jesus, the more we understand that the power belongs to Him.
So we pray.
We resist evil.
We reject fear.
We stand in truth.
And we remain submitted to Jesus Christ.
By His Stripes
Isaiah 53 brought us back to the suffering of Jesus.
He was wounded for our transgressions.
He was bruised for our iniquities.
The chastisement of our peace was upon Him.
And by His stripes we are healed.
So we prayed.
We prayed for healing.
We prayed for those facing cancer.
We prayed for sickness and disease.
We prayed for people struggling physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
And we placed them before Jesus.
Our faith does not require denying what someone is experiencing. We can acknowledge the reality of suffering while continuing to pray, seek appropriate care, and trust God with the outcome.
Jesus remains our hope.
No Weapon Formed Against You
Isaiah 54 reminds us that weapons may form, but they will not ultimately prosper against the purposes of God.
Notice something important:
The scripture does not say the weapon will never form.
Opposition may come.
Resistance may come.
Challenges may come.
That is precisely why we need to become resolute.
The presence of opposition does not automatically mean you missed God.
Sometimes opposition simply gives you another opportunity to remain steadfast.
Keep praying.
Keep obeying.
Keep loving.
Keep serving.
Keep believing.
Keep showing up.
Gospel Infiltration
Another word that surfaced during the livestream was infiltration.
Normally, infiltration sounds negative.
But think about what happens when believers faithfully carry the character and truth of Christ wherever God places them.
Into businesses.
Into education.
Into healthcare.
Into neighborhoods.
Into government.
Into entertainment.
Into technology.
Into families.
Into everyday conversations.
We do not have to enter these places seeking domination or human power.
We enter as representatives of Jesus.
We serve.
We love.
We demonstrate integrity.
We speak truth.
We pray.
We carry the Gospel.
And wherever God plants us, we allow His light to shine through our lives.
That is Kingdom influence from the inside out.
Be Resolute
Maybe you have been wondering whether you should continue.
Maybe the assignment feels slower than you expected.
Maybe you thought more people would understand.
Maybe you are tired.
Maybe you have been asking God for another sign.
Perhaps today you simply need this reminder:
Keep showing up.
You do not have to know everything God will do with your obedience.
You only have to remain faithful with what He has placed before you.
Be steadfast.
Be immovable.
Keep abounding in the work of the Lord.
Keep praying for souls.
Keep speaking truth.
Keep loving people.
Keep carrying the Gospel.
Keep your eyes on Jesus.
And when resistance comes, remember the word:
RESOLUTE.
Steadfast.
Unwavering.
Determined.
Committed.
Feelings change.
Circumstances change.
Seasons change.
But our commitment belongs to Jesus.
Keep showing up.
