MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!
Led by the Spirit, Sent for the Kingdom / Sept 4, 2026
Part 2
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
— Romans 8:14 KJV
In Part 1, we talked about identity.
No condemnation.
Freedom from bondage.
A renewed mind.
The authority of the Word.
Kingdom allegiance.
And the declaration that through Christ, we are more than conquerors.
But Kingdom authority comes with Kingdom responsibility.
We have not been set free simply so that we can enjoy freedom.
We have been set free so that God can use us to help bring freedom to others.
BE LED BY THE SPIRIT
Romans 8 does not merely tell us who we are.
It shows us how to live.
We are to be led by the Spirit of God.
That means there will be moments when the Holy Spirit leads us somewhere our flesh does not want to go.
There will be times when obedience is uncomfortable.
Times when God tells us to speak and we would rather remain quiet.
Times when He tells us to be quiet and we would rather defend ourselves.
Times when He tells us to release something we desperately want to hold.
Times when He asks us to trust Him without giving us the entire blueprint.
This is where surrender becomes real.
The flesh profits nothing.
Human strength cannot accomplish a spiritual assignment.
If God is going to receive the glory, we must learn to depend upon the Holy Spirit.
Not occasionally.
Not when our own plans fail.
Continually.
YOU CANNOT HAVE THE KINGDOM WITHOUT THE KING
Sometimes we want the promises of God without the government of God.
We want blessing without surrender.
Authority without submission.
Victory without obedience.
The Kingdom without the King.
But Jesus did not call us into casual association.
He called us to discipleship.
In Luke 14:26, Jesus uses intentionally strong language to show the supreme place He must occupy in the life of His disciple. No human relationship—not even our closest relationships—can come before our allegiance to Him.
Jesus later says:
“For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
— Matthew 12:50 KJV
This is Kingdom.
The will of the Father matters.
And when Jesus is truly Lord, obedience is not an accessory to Christianity.
It becomes our way of life.
GREATER WORKS
Jesus said:
“He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do…”
— John 14:12 KJV
What an extraordinary statement.
Jesus was not preparing His disciples to become spectators.
He was preparing them to continue His work.
The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early Church still works through yielded believers today.
This is why we cannot afford to live intimidated.
We cannot continually shrink back because we feel inadequate.
We cannot make our weaknesses greater than God’s ability to work through us.
The question is not whether we feel powerful enough.
The question is:
Are we surrendered enough for His power to flow through us?
The glory belongs to God.
The power belongs to God.
The assignment belongs to God.
We are His vessels.
BILLIONS OF SOULS
There is a world beyond our personal concerns.
People are hurting.
People are bound.
People are deceived.
People are spiritually asleep.
People desperately need Jesus.
That is why the cry continues:
BILLIONS FOR CHRIST.
Father, rescue souls from the enemy’s camp.
Awaken those who are sleeping.
Break deception.
Destroy the strongholds of pride.
Open blinded eyes.
Set captives free.
Send laborers into the harvest.
Let the Gospel of Jesus Christ go throughout the nations of the earth.
This is not about building our kingdoms.
It is about His Kingdom.
We have been given the ministry of reconciliation.
We carry the message that through Jesus Christ, humanity can be reconciled to God.
And if God gives us influence, resources, platforms, gifts, businesses, ministries, voices, creativity, or opportunities, then the question becomes:
How can this be used for the Kingdom?
THE BATTLE IS ALSO IN THE MIND
Spiritual warfare is not always dramatic.
Sometimes the battlefield is a thought.
An offense.
An assumption.
A lie.
A conversation.
A judgment.
A rumor.
A seed of bitterness that we allowed to remain planted.
This is why the renewed mind is so important.
Not every thought deserves agreement.
Not every thought deserves meditation.
And certainly not every thought deserves to become words.
The conqueror must learn to guard both the mind and the mouth.
WATCH YOUR MOUTH
One of the places this teaching eventually moved was into something extremely practical:
gossip and slander.
We can talk about spiritual warfare while ignoring the damage our own words can cause.
But Scripture does not allow us to separate the two.
The Ninth Commandment says:
“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.”
— Exodus 20:16 KJV
Our words matter to God.
What we say about people matters.
What we repeat matters.
What we imply matters.
What we pass along without knowing whether it is true matters.
Proverbs warns:
“A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.”
— Proverbs 16:28 KJV
A whisper can divide.
A rumor can wound.
Slander can destroy someone’s reputation while the person being discussed is not even present to defend themselves.
And Proverbs 10:18 says:
“He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.”
— Proverbs 10:18 KJV
Those are strong words.
But God cares deeply about how we treat one another.
DON’T LET THE ENEMY BORROW YOUR MOUTH
Think about this.
We pray against division.
Then participate in conversations that create division.
We pray for reconciliation.
Then repeat information that damages relationships.
We ask God to expose the enemy.
Then allow offense, assumptions, gossip, and accusation to flow through our own mouths.
That should make us examine ourselves.
Before repeating something, we should be willing to ask:
Do I know this is true?
Does this need to be said?
Why am I saying it?
Would I say this if the person were standing here?
Does this conversation reflect the heart of Christ?
Sometimes spiritual warfare looks like refusing to repeat the story.
Sometimes victory looks like closing your mouth.
Sometimes Kingdom authority looks like choosing reconciliation over accusation.
WE ARE FAMILY
Jesus said those who do the will of His Father are His family.
That means the Body of Christ cannot afford to devour itself.
We have a mission.
There are billions of souls who need the Gospel.
There are captives who need freedom.
There are broken hearts that need healing.
There are people who have never encountered the love of Jesus Christ.
How much Kingdom energy has been wasted fighting one another?
How much time has been spent discussing people instead of praying for them?
How many relationships have been damaged because somebody repeated something they never should have carried?
We have Kingdom business to do.
There is a harvest waiting.
MORE THAN A CONQUEROR DOESN’T MEAN MORE THAN HUMAN
Being more than a conqueror does not mean pretending that nothing hurts.
Romans 8 acknowledges suffering.
There will be trials.
There will be rejection.
There will be misunderstanding.
There will be seasons when following God costs something.
But Paul says:
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
— Romans 8:18 KJV
Our suffering is not our identity.
Our opposition is not our identity.
Our mistakes are not our identity.
Our past is not our identity.
Christ is our identity.
And our confidence is not that we will never encounter trouble.
Our confidence is that trouble cannot separate us from the love of God.
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE YOU
Romans 8 reaches its magnificent conclusion with a declaration of God’s love.
Neither death nor life.
Neither angels nor principalities nor powers.
Nothing present.
Nothing to come.
Nothing in creation.
Nothing can separate those who are in Christ from the love of God revealed through Jesus Christ our Lord.
And right there in the middle of that declaration we find our identity:
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
— Romans 8:37 KJV
Not because we are powerful by ourselves.
Not because we have mastered every spiritual principle.
Not because we never stumble.
Not because we know every Scripture.
Not because we have a title.
Not because we have a platform.
THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED US.
Jesus is the center.
Jesus is the source.
Jesus is the victory.
Jesus is the King.
A CALL TO THE CONQUERORS
Church, it is time to rise.
Not in pride.
In surrender.
Not in our own strength.
In the power of the Holy Spirit.
Not to build our names.
To lift the name of Jesus.
Not to condemn the world.
To carry the message of reconciliation.
Not to fight one another.
To contend for souls.
Not to live bound by the flesh.
To walk according to the Spirit.
Not merely to quote the Word.
To live it.
There are billions of souls.
There is a harvest.
There is Kingdom work to do.
And there is a King worthy of it all.
KINGDOM REFLECTION
Spend some quiet time with the Lord and ask:
Holy Spirit, where am I still allowing my flesh to lead me?
Have I allowed condemnation to speak louder than Your Word?
Are my words bringing reconciliation or division?
Is there anyone I have spoken about when I should have been praying for them?
Is there an area where You have been asking me to surrender and obey?
How do You want to use my life for Your Kingdom?
Then sit with Him.
Listen.
Repent wherever repentance is needed.
Forgive wherever forgiveness is needed.
Release whatever needs to be released.
And obey whatever He tells you to do.
Because being more than a conqueror is not merely about defeating something.
It is about becoming so surrendered to Jesus that His life can be revealed through yours.

Through Him who loved us.
