No Plan B 2/2

NO PLAN B — PART 2

Don’t Look at Me. Look at Jesus. - September 21, 3026

There is something I want to make very clear.

When I say “Billions for Christ,” I realize that sounds enormous.

I know somebody may hear it and look at me sideways. 🤣

Billions?

Yes.

Billions.

But here’s the thing:

You’re looking in the wrong direction if you’re looking at me.

I’m not asking anyone to believe in my ability to reach billions of people. I don’t have that ability.

I cannot save one soul.

I cannot change one heart.

I cannot convict anyone of sin.

I cannot open anyone’s spiritual eyes.

I cannot transform someone’s life.

Jesus can.

So if I could stand in the middle of this blog holding one of those ridiculously oversized #1 sports fingers, I would point that thing straight toward Heaven. 🤣☝🏽

LOOK AT HIM.

That’s where I want your attention.

The Vessel Is Not the Source

Sometimes God gives an assignment that appears completely disproportionate to the person carrying it.

Maybe that’s intentional.

Because if everything God asked us to do could be accomplished through our own intelligence, resources, connections and abilities, we might eventually start believing we did it.

But Scripture repeatedly shows God accomplishing extraordinary things through ordinary people who were willing to believe and obey Him.

The power was never in the vessel.

The power was in God.

Paul understood this. He wrote:

“But we have this precious treasure [the good news about salvation] in [unworthy] earthen vessels [of human frailty], so that the grandeur and surpassing greatness of the power will be [shown to be] from God [His sufficiency] and not from ourselves.”

— 2 Corinthians 4:7 AMP

That’s it.

Treasure in earthen vessels.

The vessel doesn’t have to be impressive when the treasure inside it belongs to God.

Don’t Measure the Assignment by the Vessel

This is where we can get ourselves into trouble.

God speaks, and instead of looking at Him, we immediately start examining ourselves.

Do I have enough money?

Do I know the right people?

Do I have enough followers?

Am I qualified enough?

How could someone like me possibly do that?

And before long, we’ve made ourselves the deciding factor in something God initiated.

That’s backwards.

If God is the One giving the instruction, God must remain the reference point.

When Moses questioned his ability to fulfill his assignment, God’s answer wasn’t a motivational speech about how amazing Moses secretly was.

God told him:

“Certainly I will be with you.”

— Exodus 3:12

God essentially redirected Moses’ attention.

Moses, you’re still looking at Moses.

Look at Me.

We Are Easily Distracted

And goodness, are we easily distracted.

We can start with Jesus and somehow end up staring at everything except Jesus.

We look at numbers.

We look at platforms.

We look at personalities.

We look at ministries.

We look at opposition.

We look at comments.

We look at algorithms.

We look at who’s growing faster.

We look at who’s doing something similar.

We look at what somebody said about us.

We even spend too much time looking at the enemy.

Meanwhile, Jesus is still saying:

Follow Me.

That’s why I believe we have to keep intentionally redirecting our attention.

Back to Jesus.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Because distraction doesn’t always arrive looking evil.

Sometimes distraction is simply something receiving attention that belongs somewhere else.

Billions for Christ Is Not About Me

So let me explain what I mean when I say:

BILLIONS FOR CHRIST.

It isn’t a declaration of my personal importance.

It isn’t a prediction about the size of my platform.

It isn’t me claiming that King of Glory Ministries will personally reach every one of those people.

And it certainly isn’t me imagining myself standing somewhere taking credit for what only God can do.

It is a prayer.

It is agreement with the heart of God for people.

Second Peter 3:9 tells us that the Lord is extraordinarily patient, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

That Scripture stretches my thinking.

If God’s heart is toward all, why would I intentionally make my prayers small?

So I pray big.

Not because I am big.

Because He is.

Maybe Your Part Is One

And this is important.

When we talk about billions, nobody should hear that and think their contribution is insignificant because they aren’t reaching thousands of people.

Maybe your assignment today is one person.

One conversation.

One prayer.

One testimony.

One invitation.

One act of obedience.

One person God keeps putting on your heart.

Never despise the one because you’re thinking about the billion.

Because billions are made up of individuals.

Jesus repeatedly demonstrated the value of one.

One woman at a well.

One Zacchaeus in a tree.

One blind man crying beside the road.

One Nicodemus asking questions.

One thief hanging beside Him.

He saw people.

So Billions for Christ can never become so focused on the multitude that we stop seeing the individual standing right in front of us.

The mission is enormous.

But obedience often happens one person at a time.

This Is Bigger Than One Ministry

That’s another reason the phrase matters to me.

Billions for Christ cannot belong to one personality, one church, one denomination, one ministry or one livestream.

The Great Commission belongs to the Body of Christ.

Someone is preaching.

Someone is teaching.

Someone is interceding.

Someone is discipling.

Someone is serving.

Someone is giving.

Someone is encouraging.

Someone is raising children who know Jesus.

Someone is translating Scripture.

Someone is quietly sharing their testimony with a coworker.

Someone is praying in a room where nobody sees them.

And God can weave countless acts of obedience together for His purposes.

We don’t have to compete.

We’re on the same mission.

That changes everything.

My Job Is Obedience

I’ve learned that I don’t need to know how God intends to accomplish everything He places on my heart.

That’s His department.

My responsibility is much simpler:

Hear Him.

Believe Him.

Obey Him.

Stay humble.

Keep showing up.

That’s it.

I don’t have to manufacture the outcome.

I don’t have to manipulate people.

I don’t have to force doors open.

And I don’t have to pretend that I understand every detail.

If He says pray, I pray.

If He says speak, I speak.

If He says wait, I wait.

If He says go, I go.

And if He says believe Him for something that looks absolutely ridiculous according to human calculations?

Well…

Look at God.

What Happens If God Actually Does It?

Here’s another question worth asking:

What if God does something far beyond what we expected?

Would we still remember where the glory belongs?

That’s why humility can’t be something we suddenly develop after increase comes.

We need it beforehand.

Lord, prepare our character for the things we’re praying for.

Prepare our hearts for answered prayers.

Prepare us to handle influence without becoming impressed with ourselves.

Prepare us to see miracles without falling in love with miracles more than the Miracle Worker.

Prepare us to see growth without worshiping numbers.

Prepare us to steward platforms without making platforms our identity.

And if You allow us to participate in something extraordinary, give us the wisdom to immediately point people back to You.

Because there is only One worthy of the glory.

Look at Jesus

So yes.

I’m praying for billions.

I’m praying for nations.

I’m praying for leaders.

I’m praying for households.

I’m praying for prodigals.

I’m praying for people trapped in darkness.

I’m praying for people who don’t even know yet that somebody somewhere is praying for them.

I’m praying because Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world.

But please don’t mistake the size of the prayer for the size of the person praying it.

I’m an earthen vessel.

And I’m perfectly comfortable admitting that.

Because that means when something happens that is obviously beyond my strength, beyond my reach, beyond my resources and beyond my ability—

there won’t be much confusion about Who did it.

So when you see Billions for Christ, don’t look at me and ask:

“How in the world is she going to do that?”

Wrong question.

Turn your attention toward Jesus and ask:

“Lord, what do You want my part to be?”

Maybe that’s the invitation behind the whole thing.

Not:

Watch me.

But:

Join me in watching Him.

Not:

Look what I’m building.

But:

Look what God is doing.

Not:

Follow me.

But:

FOLLOW JESUS.

I’ll be right there with you—

Bible open.

Coffee nearby.

Trying to obey.

And holding the biggest imaginary #1 foam finger you’ve ever seen.

☝🏽 JESUS.

Every time.

No Plan B. ❤️
