Surrender to the Assignment
From His Presence to the Nations - July 3,2026
Sometimes surrender means releasing something.
Sometimes surrender means waiting.
And sometimes surrender means allowing God to interrupt what we thought we were going to do and turn our attention toward something much bigger than ourselves.
That was the heart of this livestream.
Surrender. Pray. Listen. Obey.
Because when we surrender our timing, our plans, our identity, and our expectations to God, He is free to direct our attention wherever He desires—even toward people and nations we never expected to be praying for.
Call Unto Me
Jeremiah 33:3 gives us this extraordinary invitation:
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
God invites us to call.
But calling also requires listening.
Prayer cannot merely be us presenting God with everything we want Him to do and then leaving before He speaks.
There are moments when prayer becomes an exchange.
Lord, what is on Your heart?
Who needs prayer?
Where are You directing my attention?
What do You want me to do?
That posture requires surrender.
When the Globe Got My Attention
During this session, something unusual caught my attention.
My dog began biting at a globe.
I noticed the area of the globe involved and became curious.
Rather than automatically assigning meaning to the moment, I began looking into what was happening in that region, and my attention turned particularly toward South America—including Argentina and Chile.
That became a prompt for intercession.
And so we prayed.
We prayed for people.
We prayed for communities.
We prayed concerning sickness and suffering.
We prayed for salvation.
We prayed for God’s mercy.
Sometimes intercession begins because we intentionally choose a nation.
Other times something simply catches our attention and causes us to ask:
Lord, should I pray about this?
And there is certainly no harm in praying.
From Our Prayer Room to the Nations
This is where the vision becomes larger.
We are praying for billions of souls for Christ.
That means our prayers cannot stop with ourselves.
There is a whole world beyond our immediate circumstances.
Argentina matters.
Chile matters.
South America matters.
Africa matters.
Asia matters.
Europe matters.
North America matters.
The islands matter.
Israel matters.
The nations matter.
Every tribe.
Every tongue.
Every people.
Every person.
Because every number we call a “billion” represents individual human beings whom God created and whom Jesus calls us to reach with the Gospel.
Believe There Will Be a Performance
Luke 1:45 declares:
Blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
There is something powerful about believing God while surrendering the timing and manner of fulfillment to Him.
Faith does not mean controlling the outcome.
Faith says:
“Lord, I believe You. Now I trust You with how You bring Your purposes to pass.”
That is surrender.
We believe.
We pray.
We obey.
And we leave the performance to God.
When All Things Do Not Feel Good
Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
It does not say everything feels good.
Some seasons hurt.
Some seasons confuse us.
Some seasons stretch our faith.
Some seasons dismantle identities we built around people’s expectations.
But God can work even through circumstances we would never have chosen.
Sometimes what feels like interruption becomes redirection.
What feels like delay becomes preparation.
What feels like loss becomes surrender.
And surrender creates room for God to establish His purposes in us.
Know Who You Are
Later in the livestream, we returned to the issue of identity.
Sometimes believers become preoccupied with titles.
Who am I?
What is my position?
What should people call me?
Where do I fit?
But Scripture gives us an identity that is already extraordinarily significant:
We are ministers of reconciliation.
We have been entrusted with the message that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.
That means ministry is bigger than robes.
Bigger than titles.
Bigger than platforms.
Bigger than microphones.
The question is not merely:
“What should people call me?”
The better question may be:
“Jesus, how can I represent You today?”
Pray for Everybody
If our assignment is reconciliation, we do not get to pray only for people we like.
We pray for the lost.
We pray for our families.
We pray for strangers.
We pray for nations.
We pray for leaders.
We pray for people trapped in destructive practices.
We pray for those who oppose us.
We even pray for people we might naturally identify as being in the enemy’s camp.
Why?
Because the person is not the prize of darkness.
That person is someone Jesus came to save.
Acts 19 gives us a remarkable picture of people turning away from former occult practices as the Word of the Lord spread powerfully.
That is what we want.
Not simply the defeat of darkness—
the rescue of people from darkness.
Not merely confrontation—
conversion.
Not merely destruction of strongholds—
reconciliation with God.
Walk in the Light
First John 1 tells us that God is light and in Him there is no darkness.
If we claim fellowship with Him while continually choosing darkness, something is wrong.
Kingdom authority and personal surrender belong together.
We cannot spend our time confronting darkness everywhere else while refusing to allow the Holy Spirit to confront darkness within us.
Before asking God to change nations, we should remain willing to say:
Search me.
Correct me.
Cleanse me.
Lead me.
Change me.
Real intercession begins with surrender.
Authority Under Authority
Luke 10:19 speaks of the authority Jesus gave His disciples over the power of the enemy.
But Kingdom authority is never independence from God.
It is authority under His authority.
We do not become powerful because we learned the right spiritual vocabulary.
Our confidence is in Jesus Christ.
So when we pray against darkness, we remain surrendered to Him.
When we intercede for nations, we remain surrendered to Him.
When we speak God’s Word, we remain surrendered to Him.
The power belongs to God.
Up to Half the Kingdom?
During the livestream, Esther came into the conversation again.
The king repeatedly offered Esther up to half his kingdom.
And it stirred something in me concerning the magnitude of what we are asking God for.
We are praying big prayers.
Billions of souls.
That sounds outrageous to the natural mind.
Good.
Our God is bigger than our natural calculations.
We are not asking for possessions.
We are asking for people.
We are asking God for families.
Cities.
Regions.
Nations.
Generations.
We are asking for a harvest.
And we will keep praying.
Humble Yourself and Pray
There is no Kingdom assignment that removes our need for humility.
The familiar call of 2 Chronicles 7:14 brings us back to the posture of God’s people:
Humble ourselves.
Pray.
Seek His face.
Turn from wicked ways.
That is the posture.
Not:
“Look how powerful we are.”
But:
“Lord, we need You.”
Not:
“Look at our ministry.”
But:
“Jesus, save.”
Not:
“Make our name great.”
But:
“Let Your Kingdom come.”
Surrender to the Assignment
Maybe God is asking you to release your timetable.
Maybe He is challenging an identity you have carried.
Maybe He is expanding your prayer life beyond your immediate circumstances.
Maybe He is reminding you that your neighborhood is a mission field.
Maybe He is putting a nation on your heart.
Maybe He simply wants you to stop trying to control the next step.
Whatever the instruction is—
surrender.
Surrender your timing.
Surrender your reputation.
Surrender your plans.
Surrender your need to understand everything before you obey.
Surrender your title.
Surrender your platform.
Surrender the outcome.
And then ask:
“Lord, what is Your assignment?”
Because the assignment may begin in your prayer room—
but reach all the way to the nations.
