Take Back What Belongs to You
Prophetic Intercession & Prayer - May 6, 2026
There are things Jesus has already provided that believers sometimes live as though we are still waiting to receive.
Peace.
Authority.
Access to God.
Freedom.
Truth.
An inheritance in Christ.
And sometimes the problem isn’t that God hasn’t provided.
We don’t know what belongs to us.
That’s why the Word matters.
You cannot confidently stand on something you don’t know God has said.
Get the Word in Your Ears
During this livestream, I shared something that became important in my own walk with God:
I kept the Word in my ears.
Constantly.
When fear had been speaking, I needed another voice.
When doubt had been speaking, I needed another voice.
When unbelief had been speaking, I needed another voice.
So instead of continually feeding myself the very things producing fear, I began filling myself with Scripture.
There are seasons when you need to become intentional about what is entering your heart.
Turn off some of the noise.
Turn down some of the opinions.
Stop rehearsing the problem all day.
And put the Word in your ears.
Not as background noise.
As nourishment.
The Word Is Alive
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God is living and powerful.
God’s Word isn’t dead information sitting on a page.
It penetrates.
It exposes.
It corrects.
It strengthens.
It transforms.
It teaches us what is true when our emotions are telling us something completely different.
Sometimes we’re asking God for more faith while filling our minds with everything except His Word.
Maybe the first adjustment is simpler:
Change what you’re feeding on.
Know Your Authority
Luke 10:19 records Jesus giving His followers authority over the power of the enemy.
Our authority doesn’t originate in ourselves.
It comes through Jesus Christ.
That’s important.
Spiritual authority isn’t bravado.
It isn’t shouting louder.
It isn’t pretending the enemy doesn’t exist.
It is knowing what Jesus accomplished and refusing to live beneath what He provided.
John 16:11 reminds us that the ruler of this world has already been judged.
We aren’t trying to convince Jesus to win.
The Cross already happened.
The resurrection already happened.
Jesus already triumphed.
We are learning how to live from what He finished.
Get Out From Under the Enemy’s Thumb
Sometimes believers can spend so much time talking about what the enemy is doing that we begin behaving as though he has the final authority.
He doesn’t.
Jesus does.
If Christ has given you authority, stop surrendering territory through ignorance, fear, unbelief, or agreement with lies.
That doesn’t mean life won’t contain opposition.
It means opposition doesn’t change your identity.
You belong to Jesus.
Know what belongs to you in Christ—and stand there.
Dwell in the Secret Place
Psalm 91 begins:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Notice the word:
Dwelleth.
Not visits occasionally.
Not stops by during emergencies.
Dwells.
There is security in learning to remain close to God.
And we’re seeing this theme again throughout these early livestreams:
The answer isn’t merely greater spiritual warfare.
It’s greater intimacy.
Stay close.
Stay in His Word.
Stay in prayer.
Stay in the light.
Stay where you can hear Him.
True, Unbroken Fellowship
First John 1 teaches us about walking in the light and having fellowship with God.
This isn’t about pretending we’re perfect.
It’s about refusing to hide.
When God reveals something, repent.
When He corrects you, respond.
When something enters your heart that doesn’t belong there, bring it into the light.
Repentance isn’t something believers should fear.
Repentance protects fellowship.
I don’t want anything interfering with my relationship with Jesus.
Not pride.
Not offense.
Not bitterness.
Not secret sin.
Not stubbornness.
Not the need to be right.
Nothing is worth sacrificing intimacy with Him.
He Gave Us His Son
Romans 8:32 asks a powerful question.
If God did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also graciously give us all things?
Sometimes we’re begging God as though He’s reluctant to help us.
Look at the Cross.
God has already demonstrated His heart toward us.
He gave Jesus.
The Cross settles the question of whether God is willing to give.
So instead of approaching Him like abandoned children trying to earn His attention, we can approach Him through Christ knowing that we belong to Him.
Take the Gospel With You
Mark 16 shifts our attention outward.
Jesus commissioned His followers to:
Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
This is where authority becomes assignment.
God doesn’t give us authority so we can sit around admiring how powerful we are.

Authority serves the mission.
People need Jesus.
The hurting need Jesus.
The addicted need Jesus.
Families need Jesus.
Communities need Jesus.
Nations need Jesus.
And Scripture says the disciples went forth preaching, with the Lord working with them and confirming His Word.
His Word.
Not ours.
Pray for Somebody Else
During this livestream, we prayed corporately.
For people struggling with addiction.
For people needing direction.
For ministries needing breakthrough.
For people trying to understand what God was calling them to do.
Because Kingdom authority isn’t merely about what we can receive.
It’s also about what God can do through us for somebody else.
Sometimes your breakthrough becomes somebody else’s testimony.
Sometimes what God taught you in private becomes the thing you use to help another person stand.
Sometimes your freedom becomes evidence to someone else that freedom is possible.
The Expectation of the Wicked Will Perish
Proverbs 10:28 reminds us that the expectation of the wicked comes to nothing.
We don’t have to organize our lives around what opposition expects.
We organize our lives around what God has said.
That’s another reason the Word must remain in us.
When circumstances speak—
the Word answers.
When fear speaks—
the Word answers.
When doubt speaks—
the Word answers.
When the enemy challenges your identity—
the Word answers.
But you have to know it.
Take Back What Belongs to You
Maybe you surrendered peace to fear.
Take it back.
Maybe you surrendered confidence to condemnation.
Return to what Jesus says.
Maybe you surrendered your voice because intimidation convinced you to become silent.
Open your mouth again.
Maybe you’ve lived beneath your spiritual inheritance because nobody taught you what belongs to you in Christ.
Get in the Word.
Discover it.
Believe it.
Live it.
And then help somebody else discover it too.
Jesus has already done the finished work.
Our job isn’t to manufacture another victory.
Our job is to believe Him, remain in fellowship with Him, obey Him, and walk in what He has provided.
So get the Word in your ears.
Keep your heart in the light.
Stay in the secret place.
Know your authority.
Preach the Gospel.
Pray for somebody else.
And stop forfeiting what Jesus paid for.
Take back what belongs to you.
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for everything You have provided through Your Son.
Give us revelation through Your Word so that we understand our identity, inheritance, and authority in Christ.
Replace fear, doubt, and unbelief with truth.
Help us walk in the light and maintain close, unbroken fellowship with You. Search our hearts and show us anything that is interfering with intimacy with Jesus.
We pray for those struggling with addiction, fear, bondage, confusion, and discouragement. Bring freedom, healing, clarity, and salvation.
Strengthen those You have called into ministry. Give them courage to obey You and wisdom to steward their assignments.
Teach us not merely to receive from You, but to carry the Gospel into the world and help others discover the freedom Jesus purchased.
We receive what You have provided, and we give You all the glory.
