THE WAY OF THE KINGDOM
Learning to Live as a Kingdom Citizen
There is a progression happening in this new season.
First, there was a call to settle it—to settle who God is, what His Word says, whom I believe, and where I stand.
Then came the question:
Now that it is settled, how do I live?
That question became the heart of a recent livestream:
The Way of the Kingdom.
As I reflected on the approaching Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, and the significance I have been sensing around the Hebrew year 5787, I found myself thinking about crowns, scepters, swords, authority, righteousness, and completion.
But underneath all of those prophetic images was something much simpler:
Kingdom citizens have a way of living.
Seek First the Kingdom
Jesus gave us the starting point:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”
— Matthew 6:33
Kingdom living begins with what we seek.
Not the world’s system.
Not recognition.
Not comfort.
Not our own agenda.
The Kingdom.
When the Kingdom becomes our priority, our lives begin to come into alignment with the King.
This is not about escaping the earth.
It is about learning how to represent Heaven while we are here.
We are Kingdom citizens operating in the earth realm.
And that means our lives matter.
Our obedience matters.
Our choices matter.
Our witness matters.
The Crown, the Scepter, and the Sword
As I considered the coming year, I reflected on what I have understood prophetically as the symbolism of the crown, scepter, and sword.
The crown speaks to me of authority and identity.
The scepter speaks of righteous rule.
And the sword immediately brings me back to the Word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that the Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword.
The Kingdom does not advance through human strength alone.
We need the Word.
We need righteousness.
We need spiritual authority.
And we need hearts surrendered to the King.
I also reflected on the significance of the number seven as a biblical symbol associated with completion and fullness.
Whether discussing a calendar transition or simply recognizing what God is highlighting in a particular season, my focus is not the number itself.
My focus is the King.
We Have an Assignment
One of the strongest themes that emerged during this broadcast was assignment.
We are not here merely to consume.
We are here to participate.
We are called to be ministers of reconciliation.
We are called to be fishers of men.
We are called to carry the message of Jesus into the earth.
That means Kingdom living cannot remain theoretical.
At some point, what we believe has to become what we do.
Obedience becomes our response.
Surrender becomes our posture.
Love becomes our motivation.
And the Gospel becomes our message.
The Waters
During the livestream, I shared a vision that has stayed with me.
I saw people coming up out of the water.
To me, that image represented souls coming into new life—people emerging from what had held them, coming into salvation, freedom, and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
I believe there is a harvest of souls worth contending for.
That is why I pray.
That is why I intercede.
That is why I keep showing up.
Because behind every number is a person.
Behind every person is a soul.
And every soul matters to God.
Crucified With Christ
There is another part of Kingdom living that is less glamorous but absolutely necessary:
death to self.
Galatians 2:20 says:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”
Kingdom living means Christ gets to live through me.
My preferences cannot always be in charge.
My flesh cannot always have the final word.
My fear cannot be my guide.
The opinions of people cannot become my compass.
There must be a surrender that says:
Not my way.
Your way.
That is the way of the Kingdom.
Faith Requires Diligence
Second Peter 1 also became an important part of the message.
We are instructed to give diligence—to add to our faith, to develop spiritual character, and to grow in the qualities that reflect Christ.
Faith is not meant to remain stagnant.
We are supposed to grow.
And Peter gives a sobering warning about what happens when these qualities are absent: a person can become spiritually nearsighted, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their former sins.
That challenged me.
Because it is possible to receive something from God and then live as though we never received it.
Kingdom citizens must remember who they are.
The Cleanness of Our Hands
Job 22:30 also came into the conversation through the subject of intercession.
There is something powerful about standing before God on behalf of others.
I am not praying only for myself.
I am praying for people who may not yet know how to pray.
For people who feel bullied by fear.
For people who feel trapped.
For people who feel as though they cannot move forward.
For nations.
For families.
For souls.
For deliverance.
For breakthrough.
And I believe there is a place for believers to stand in the gap with clean hands and surrendered hearts.
The Kingdom Is Bigger Than Us
One of the Scriptures referenced was 1 Corinthians 3:21:
“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours…”
That is a reminder not to build the Kingdom around personalities.
The Kingdom belongs to the King.
We are servants.
We are representatives.
We are vessels.
And whatever God places in our hands is ultimately for His purposes.
That keeps us humble.
It also keeps us free.
A Call to Stand
The world is full of voices.
Some are loud.
Some are entertaining.
Some are persuasive.
Some are simply distracting.
But Kingdom citizens must know the voice of their King.
We cannot allow the lies of the world to become louder than the Word of God.
We have to stay rooted.
Stay crucified.
Stay surrendered.
Stay in the Word.
Stay obedient.
And keep our eyes on Jesus.
The Way Forward
As I continue into this new season, I don’t want to simply talk about the Kingdom.
I want to live like a Kingdom citizen.
I want my prayers to reflect the heart of the King.
I want my words to agree with His Word.
I want my hands to serve His purposes.
I want my life to point people toward Jesus.
And I want to be found faithful with whatever assignment He places before me.
That is what I believe this season is calling me toward.
Not merely knowing about the Kingdom.
But learning the way of the Kingdom.
And perhaps that is the progression:
Settle it.
Then—
Live it.
Then—
Carry it.
Then—
Share it.
The King is worthy.
And the assignment is still before us.

A Note on the Livestream

The heart of the message remains simple:
Seek the Kingdom. Know the King. Walk in obedience. Stand in authority. And make disciples.
The Kingdom has a way of living.
And I am learning it.
