Watch Your Mouth!
Prophetic Intercession & Prayer — May 13, 2026
There are some things we need to stop saying.
Not because we’re afraid of words.
Not because we’re pretending difficulties don’t exist.
But because as believers, we should not casually come into agreement with words that contradict what God has said.
Sometimes we repeat phrases simply because we’ve heard them for years:
“New levels, new devils.”
“Every time I get ahead, something happens.”
“I already know something is going to go wrong.”
And before we know it, we’ve developed what I called during this livestream:
Low-key decrees. 🤣
We’re saying things we don’t actually want to see operating in our lives.
Who Told Us to Say That?
One phrase I addressed during this livestream was:
“New levels, new devils.”
It sounds spiritual.
We’ve heard it so many times that we may repeat it without ever stopping to ask:
Where is that in the Bible?
Genesis 3:1 introduces the serpent as crafty and subtle. Deception has always involved getting people to question, distort, or move away from what God actually said.
That makes knowing God’s Word essential.
We cannot simply accept something because it sounds spiritual.
What did God say?
Live by Every Word From God
Jesus answered temptation with Scripture:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
— Matthew 4:4 KJV
Luke 4:4 records the same truth, and Jesus was quoting the principle established in Deuteronomy 8:3.
Think about that.
Jesus was being tempted, and His response was:
It is written.
He didn’t negotiate with the enemy.
He didn’t invent a new strategy.
He answered with what God had already said.
God has given us His Word to live by.
His Word gives us truth for navigating life, resisting deception, confronting temptation, and standing in faith.
We don’t need to manufacture victory.
We need to know what He said.
The Word Is Alive
Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God is living, active, and powerful.
The Bible isn’t merely inspirational literature.
God’s Word exposes.
God’s Word corrects.
God’s Word strengthens.
God’s Word gives us something solid to stand on when circumstances are shouting something completely different.
That’s why we have to know it.
You cannot effectively recognize a counterfeit if you don’t know the truth.
And when the enemy attempts to introduce another version of the story, we can return to the same foundation Jesus demonstrated:
It is written.
Refuse Intimidation
Before this livestream even got underway, there was a determination in my spirit:
I refuse to be intimidated.
Sometimes opposition attempts to get our attention before we ever begin the assignment.
That’s why praise matters.
Worship redirects our attention from the opposition back to God.
Instead of agreeing with intimidation—
“I can’t do this.”
“This is too much.”
“Maybe I should stop.”
—we return to what God has said.
Sometimes spiritual warfare looks remarkably simple:
Praise God and keep moving.
Watch Those Low-Key Decrees 🤣
Mark 11:23 brings attention to the relationship between believing and speaking.
That should make us pay attention to what repeatedly comes out of our mouths.
Again, this isn’t about becoming frightened that one accidental sentence will destroy your future.
This is about agreement.
What are we consistently agreeing with?
Faith?
Fear?
Scripture?
Tradition?
A cliché?
Someone else’s opinion?
If our mouths continually announce defeat, failure, fear, and disaster, it may be worth asking what beliefs are operating underneath those words.
Our speech can reveal what our hearts have been entertaining.
So yes…
Watch your mouth. 🤣
You Don’t Have to Agree With Every Word Spoken Over You
During this livestream, I shared a personal experience surrounding my ordination in which words were spoken that I believed were harmful rather than life-giving.
That experience reinforced something important for me:
Someone speaking something over your life does not mean you have to come into agreement with it.
Take words back to Scripture.
Take them into prayer.
Ask God for discernment.
And when something contradicts your identity in Christ or what God has revealed in His Word, you don’t have to adopt it simply because another person said it.
Human words do not outrank God’s Word.
God Can Still Work It for Good
Romans 8:28 reminds us:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
— Romans 8:28 KJV
That means even when something happens that we did not choose, understand, or enjoy, we don’t have to pronounce defeat over the situation.
God is still God.
He is still working.
He is still able to redeem.
He is still able to take something the enemy intended for harm and weave it into His purposes.
Our circumstances don’t get to write the conclusion before God does.
Walk in the Light
First John 1:7 reminds us that when we walk in the light, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
This isn’t about trying to become spiritually impressive.
It’s about staying close to Jesus.
If God reveals something in our hearts, we bring it into the light.
If He reveals an unhealthy agreement, we surrender it.
If He shows us that our speech has been rooted in fear, we allow Him to correct us.
There is freedom in the light.
Don’t Let the World Teach You How to Think
First John 2:15 warns us not to love the world or the things of the world.
The world has its own vocabulary.
Its own wisdom.
Its own expectations.
Its own definitions of success.
Its own predictions about what is possible.
But believers have been given another source.
The Word of God.
We don’t have to think like everybody else.
We don’t have to talk like everybody else.
And we certainly don’t have to repeat everything everybody else says.
Cancel the Foolishness 🤣
There comes a point when we have to stop entertaining every negative statement, prediction, cliché, and declaration that comes our way.
Some things don’t require three days of analysis.
Sometimes the response is simply:
Nope. I’m not coming into agreement with that.
Then go back to Scripture.
Because our confidence isn’t in perfectly policing every sentence ever spoken around us.
Our confidence is in Jesus Christ.
The goal isn’t fear of words.
The goal is agreement with God.
Let God Have the Final Word
The enemy doesn’t get the final word.
Your circumstances don’t get the final word.
Your past doesn’t get the final word.
Other people don’t get the final word.
God does.
So refuse intimidation.
Praise God.
Know the Scriptures.
Test what you hear.
Reject what contradicts God’s truth.
Walk in the light.
And before another low-key decree slips out…
Watch your mouth. 🤣
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, teach us to live by every word that proceeds from You.
Show us where fear, worldly wisdom, tradition, disappointment, or careless sayings have influenced our speech. Give us discernment to recognize truth and reject deception.
Help us fill our hearts so completely with Your Word that Your truth becomes our natural response when opposition comes.
We refuse intimidation. We choose faith.
Teach us to speak from our identity in Christ and not from temporary circumstances.
May our words agree with Your truth, bring life, strengthen others, and glorify Jesus.

What have I been repeatedly saying that I need to examine in the light of God’s Word?
Before you repeat it, believe it, or build your life around it, ask:
“Did God actually say that?”
