This course walks you through the practical, hands-on side of getting ready for your first flight — from taking your drone out of the box to preparing it for takeoff. It's geared toward consumer and prosumer drones (my hands-on experience and instruction is based mainly on DJI drones), not enterprise-level equipment. It's not exam prep; you won't be studying for the Part 107 test here. You can take this course either before or after you pass your Part 107 exam — it's designed to build your real-world confidence and readiness in the field, not just your test score.

You don't need to already own a drone to take this course, but it's most beneficial if you do. For the in-person, hands-on classes, drones are not provided, so you'll need to bring your own. You don't need an expensive one — most consumer drones follow a similar setup process — but it's ideal to have one with GPS and a camera. My hands-on experience and instruction is based mainly on DJI drones, so a DJI model is a great fit if you're deciding what to get.

Yes. The standalone online modules are $99. If you choose to continue on to the in-person Core Training, the combined package is $399 total — so your $99 is already built into that price, not an extra cost on top of it.
