Exclusive interview
HARGEISA, Somaliland — (HornPost) Romanian business development and diplomatic relations strategist Cosmin Ivan, author of Somaliland Rising: The Case for a Nation’s Independence, says Somaliland’s history, democratic institutions and strategic location in the Horn of Africa could strengthen its case for international recognition.
Ivan made the remarks in an interview with journalist Abdikarim Saed Salah, Editor-in-Chief of HornPost, during a Horn Cable TV program conducted via Zoom while Ivan was in Romania.
The interview focused on Ivan’s book, Somaliland Rising, his first exposure to Somaliland, the territory’s history and statehood aspirations, international recognition, the role of the African Union, Red Sea security and the potential for stronger relations between Somaliland and European countries.
About Me
I write about people, ambition, leadership, relationships, and the things we often notice only after we have lived through them.
My background is in psychology, business development, international projects, and working with people from different cultures and professional environments. These experiences have shaped the way I look at success, not simply as a destination, but as something influenced by people, decisions, timing, character, and sometimes circumstances we cannot see.
I have always been curious about what happens beneath the surface. Why people make certain choices. What really drives ambition. How relationships influence professional success. And why some of the most important lessons are rarely written down.
Writing gives me the opportunity to explore these questions and share what I discover along the way.
I don't write to tell people how they should think. I write to make them think, perhaps differently than they did before opening the book.
There is usually more to a story than what appears on the surface. My books are an invitation to look a little deeper.
