75 Hard Challenge for Content Creators and Artists
I’ve recently jumped on board with a challenge for content creators and artists. This is the 75 Hard challenge that gained popularity over the years as a health and wellness challenge. The original challenge was popularized by Andy Frisella in 2019, and it’s become a global challenge for anyone who wants to transform their life in 75 days.
Most recently, content creator Tiana Gidley introduced the 75 Hard challenge for content creators and artists however, the challenge didn’t gain much traction. Therefore, another creator, Frankii re-introduced the challenge for YouTubers, specifically.
I’m currently doing the challenge on YouTube, and I thought it would be a great idea to introduce it on my writing platforms and blogs as well.
So for now, I’m going to focus on doing the challenge on Vocal and one of my blogs.
What does this challenge entail?
Frankii, the content creator I mentioned earlier, she’s posting one long-form video a day for the next 75 days on YouTube. I’ve decided to switch it up and build my own challenge. So instead of posting one video, I’m posting one long-form piece, and two shorts videos daily.
Here’s the breakdown:
- 1 long-form video
- 2 short videos
- 10 comments on other people’s videos
- Affirmations each day
- Educate myself each day
- Do something new and outside my comfort zone
An example of doing something new is finding a new place, and spending the afternoon there. Today, I found this really cool Asian supermarket and spent about an hour walking around and picking fresh fruits and vegetables. I also had a delicious peach tea and spent the afternoon people watching. I know, it sounds creepy right? But no, I love people watching, it gives me new writing material.
It sounds like a lot right? Well, honestly, I don’t mind working hard. I enjoy pushing myself, and I can’t imagine sitting around doing nothing all day hoping to build a successful online business. I’m not afraid of work.
The problem with most of these online gurus is that they make it look so easy, and when you try it for yourself, and it’s not so easy, you just quit to move on to the next quick money scheme.
The truth is, building a successful digital business requires work. It’s not going to happen overnight, and you must put in hours and hours of work, blood, sweat and tears to achieve your goals. That’s the truth, take it or leave it.
Over the years, I’ve done challenges on Medium and other platforms where I’ve published 100 articles in a month. People thought I was crazy, and said I would burn myself out after a couple months, I didn’t burn out right away, I worked like this for at least two years, then I took a break from the non-stop grind.
Right now, I’m ready to get back on the horse, and this time, I’m working on several platforms and blogs at the same time.
For this challenge though, I’m focusing on YouTube, my blog, and Vocal. I might do another challenge later on down the line, but for now, I’m focusing on these three platforms.
I was thinking about posting this challenge on Medium, but I’m not so sure yet, if I do, I’ll write about it.
What’s the goal for this challenge?
- The goal is to get myself back on track
- Expand my audience
- Connect with other creators
- Make more money
Don’t be ashamed of admitting that you want to make more money, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make more money as a creator. In fact, it’s your right as a creator to earn from your craft, as long as you put in the time and effort, you deserve it.
So, for Vocal, I’m posting at least one article or poem a day. Then, I’ll spend time engaging with other writers by commenting ten times a day.
That’s it!
I’m excited to push more content out there, and to connect with other creators. I’ve already started the challenge on YouTube, and it’s day 3 over there. I don’t want to get confused by posting for different days on there and here, so I’m going to catch up and post three pieces here on Vocal today, so I can start day four tomorrow.
Would you do this challenge?
