Why Some Content Writers Quit and Go Back to Their Old Lives

“One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. Every person is guilty of this mistake at one time or another” -Napoleon Hill- Think and Grow Rich-
I can’t count the number of times that I’ve read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. I refer back to it whenever I feel like throwing in the towel or when I want to inspire someone to keep going through harsh times and moments of defeat or self-doubt.

In the first chapter of the book, Hill spotlights a typical example of the “three feet from gold” theory.

The story highlights a situation where a man discovers gold and decides to set up a gold mining business. He invests in the tools and hires people to work on the land.

He does strike gold; however, he eventually runs into some problems and decides to quit.

He sells all the gold mining equipment to a trash dealer, and eventually, the trash dealer strikes gold and makes a fortune.

You see, the man was three feet away from striking gold, but he gave up; and sometimes, people who write or create content online are close to receiving their breakthrough, but they give up before they strike gold.
