So, doors of shalom, what’ s that about?
We all have relationships which either give us peace, which are easy to navigate, real blessings or relationships that just keep on ending up in negative and destructive cycles. We can identify the right relationships early, just like we can identify the wrong relationships early and keep the door closed on them.
Acts 12.12–17 (NLT):
12 When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer.13 He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, “Peter is standing at the door!”
15 “You’re out of your mind!” they said. When she insisted, they decided, “It must be his angel.”
16 Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed. 17 He motioned for them to quiet down and told them how the Lord had led him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers what happened,” he said. And then he went to another place.
Matthieu 10.11–15 (NLT):
11 “Whenever you enter a city or village, search for a worthy person and stay in his home until you leave town. 12 When you enter the home, give it your blessing. 13 If it turns out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand; if it is not, take back the blessing. 14 If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen to your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave. 15 I tell you the truth, the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah will be better off than such a town on the judgment day.
Luc 9.5 (NLT):
5 And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.”
5785 is the year of the open door in the Hebrew calendar( why is she talking about this?) Jesus was a Jew in Jewish land where that calendar was applied , is still applied and to this day there are 3 feasts with open portals in that calendar during which the church is to sow to move forward prophetically and apostolically.
In Acts12, Peter just came out of the place of bondage, where his head was wanted, supernaturally because the church was praying for him, but when he went to knock on the door of the house church which had prayed for him, he found a closed door and behind it, chaos, disorder. That door just did not have his name on it, it was not his door of blessings, it was not meant to open because where a prophet is rejected: God has something else planned for that place, as in Mathew 10. Therefore, as in Matthew 10 and Luke9:5, Peter obeyed Jesus s instructions to shake his sandales off and move on, and he arrived at the open door, the door with his name on it, the one prepared for him, where people were ready to host him, where there was shalom and order. Shalom means peace in Hebrew.
This week I banged on some doors that remained closed , some had no name on them because the owner had not written their name on them, but I prayed over that door and the owner finally wrote his name on it, leading me to the door which was ready for me which had my name on it. I have also closed many doors which belonged to my past season ( it has to be done for new doors to open) doors of ministry connections, doors of business and general administration tools and processes, doors on jobs which had no anointing on them( the doors which are for you will be anointed, well hinged).
Prayers: Thank you Jesus that you are the door and the door opener, because your glory, your breaker anointing goes before us , preparing places, spaces, people, putting our names in their ears and on their hearts, making relationships effortless. Thank you, Jesus that the places of chaos, disorder, harm were never for us , that you are not a God who leads us to them but protects us and delivers us from those ditches. Thank you Jesus for keeping us testing doors until we shift, pivot and enter our God given doors. Thank you, Lord that one word in the very first conversation is enough to show us whether this our people, or that we need to take off.
