If your closet has been feeling a little blah lately, this may be your sign to invite some color into your wardrobe because color is confidence. Bold colors and prints will take center stage in 2025. New color? Bold colors don't have to overwhelm! There are many subtle ways to introduce color into your wardrobe. Whether it be colorful accessories, statement shoes, strategic color blocking, or bright layers.

To introduce color into your wardrobe, I suggest starting in small doses. What colors or styles make you feel empowered? I called this your Signature Color Palette. Aligning your wardrobe colors with your natural beauty helps everything mix and match effortlessly.

Incorporating color into your wardrobe is a form of Self-Expression. Color is one of those nonverbal communications that can convey your personality and how you want to be perceived by others. The right color does more than match your skin; it lifts your mood and energy.

The One Third Rule

A good rule of thumb is to keep bold colors to about one-third of your outfit. This might mean wearing a bold, colored top with neutral bottoms, or vice versa. This rule is often used in interior design, suggesting that for visual appeal and balance, you should divide your outfit into three sections, based on proportion. The main color that the outfit is centered around; the dominant color should be 60% of your outfit, then the secondary color, which is the complementary color, should be about 30% of your outfit. Lastly, the accent color is only about 10% of your outfit.

The Influence of Color

Colors can also influence how others perceive you and provide a powerful tool for self-identification. Incorporating color into your wardrobe can help create your own "Signature" look. Experimenting with color helps you discover new favorites and pushes you beyond your fashion comfort zone. Experimenting with color helps you discover new favorites and pushes you beyond your fashion comfort zone. Confidence grows when you feel authentic about what you’re wearing.

The appropriate colors can enhance the sense of elegance. Incorporate color into your wardrobe without being tacky. Color that is chic, elegant, and confident. Your style is uniquely yours. Embracing bold colors, prints, and different combinations that reflect your personality adds excitement to your wardrobe.
