A confident wardrobe is built on a strong foundation. Invest in timeless staples like a great pair of jeans. Investing in a great pair of jeans as a wardrobe staple is a good idea because they are versatile, durable, and can form the foundation of many outfits.
A well-made pair of jeans is an all-around classic and can be dressed up or down with ease, making them suitable for a wide range of occasions. High-quality denim is built to last, meaning you won't have to replace them as often as cheaper jeans, saving you money in the long run.
A great pair of jeans complements any wardrobe because the right cut flatters “every” body type.
Discovering your personal style involves knowing your body type. The eight body types are: Straight, Pear, Spoon, Hourglass, Oval, Diamond, Inverted Triangle, and Triangle.
- Straight Body Type- The bust and hips are almost the same size. The waist is a bit smaller than the bust and hips.
- Pear Body Type- The hips are larger than the bust, and the waist slightly drops out to the hips.
- Spoon Body Type- The hips are larger than the bust, and the hips have a “shelf” appearance. The waist is slightly smaller than the bust
- Hourglass Body The bust and hips are about the same size, with a small waist.
- Oval Body Type- The waist is larger than the bust and hips. The hips are narrow compared to the shoulders. The breast is of normal size.
- Diamond Body Type-The waist is larger than the bust and hips. The shoulders are narrow compared to the hips. The breasts are naturally small.
- An Inverted Triangle Body Type- The shoulders are broad and a narrower waist and hips, creating a V-shape or inverted triangle silhouette.
- The Triangle Body Type, also known as a pear shape, is characterized by wider hips and thighs compared to the bust and shoulders
- Straight-leg jeans could best flatter the Rectangle and Apple body types.
- Skinny Jeans would work best with the Hourglass and Inverted body types.
- Flare Leg or Boot-Cut Jeans would help balance the proportions of the Pear body type.
- Mid-rise jeans would also flatter the oval body type.
Consider the Rise:
- High-rise: Can define the waist and create a more hourglass silhouette.
- Mid-rise: Can be flattering for various shapes, settling nicely on the waist.
- Low-rise: This can be less flattering for particular body types, especially if you want to elongate your legs.
3. Select the Right Leg Shape:
- Flare: The Flare-fit jeans are a good fit for pear shapes and can create a more dramatic look.
- Straight-leg: A classic and versatile style that can suit many body types.
- Boyfriend: Can add volume to the lower half, balancing broader shoulders in inverted triangle shapes.
- Skinny/Slim: The skinny, slim jeans hug the body, which makes them great for various shapes but particularly flattering for hourglass, rectangle, and inverted triangles.
- Bootcut: Can balance out wider hips and create a more balanced look for pear shapes.
