Your Garden, Reimagined

Even though a course cannot replace working with a professional garden designer, the 3 self-paced modules in this garden design course put the tools in your hands for creating a design that goes beyond the amateurish homeowner diagrams often dismissed by top landscape contractors. Crammed with a ton of material gleaned from 25 years of real world experience, the modules can be watched as often as you need to. Take control of your garden design and have fun doing it too!

"I have been using your design course to help sort out the backyard. Very helpful for me especially identifying how it is to be used. Great job with that!! I am planning walkways, raised beds for vegetables, and berry bush patches."

The Companion Book

Las Vegas's unique desert climate—with its heat, drought, and challenging soil—demands a fresh design approach. Designing with the Desert goes beyond purely subjective plant selection, showing you how to create beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces that truly thrive.

About the Course Creator

Specializing in designing with native plants, desert cottage garden style, container design, and edibles, Michele Chambliss is a "plant-driven" garden designer, native Las Vegan, and author of Designing with the Desert: A Thoughtful Approach to Desert Garden Design

An American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Certified Horticulturist who has been awarded Best of Houzz for the past eight years, she was also a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) for 2 years.

Michele completed contractor and landscape architecture internships while attending Diablo Valley College's Landscape Design program. She designed, installed, and maintained gardens in Louisiana and California before eventually returning to her hometown of Las Vegas, where she worked as an in-house designer for a local high-end design/build landscape company.

She has worked in many facets of horticulture for 25 years, from maintenance to design, has been quoted regularly in Homes & Gardens magazine, and has presented to local garden clubs, including the Nevada Urban Agricultural Conference.

Inspired by the beauty of the desert and native plants, she started Perennial Garden Consultants in 2015: consulting, coaching, and designing for the 21st century while blogging and publishing a quarterly ezine, Designer's Notebook. She encourages Master Gardeners, novices, long-time residents and newcomers alike to think about their Eastern Mojave Desert outdoor spaces in a new way!
