Be Careful How You Treat People — God Don’t Play About His Children

There’s a sacred truth that too many people forget: God don’t play about His children. You might think you’re getting away with mistreating someone, talking down on them, or casting judgment, but God sees everything—and He steps in when necessary.

Let’s take it back to the book of Numbers, chapter 12. Miriam, the sister of Moses—the very man God chose to lead His people—spoke against her own brother. Jealousy crept in. She questioned his leadership, criticized his decisions, and stirred division. And what did God do? He came down.

God didn’t just let it slide. He called Miriam and Aaron out directly and reminded them that Moses was His chosen servant, someone He spoke to face-to-face. Then, He struck Miriam with leprosy.

That wasn’t just punishment. That was a warning. A divine check.

If God will correct Moses’ own sister, what makes anyone else think they can treat His people any kind of way and not face consequences?

Be careful how you talk about people. Be careful how you handle those who carry God’s spirit, even when they’re not perfect. Because favor doesn’t mean flawless—but it does mean protected.

So the next time you’re tempted to mistreat, gossip, or throw shade—remember: God don’t play about His children.
