Do You Always Need Approval and Seek Validation?

If you find yourself constantly seeking approval from others, waiting for validation before making decisions, or feeling incomplete without someone’s affirmation, it’s time to pause and reflect.

As women of faith, we are not called to live for the applause of man, but for the approval of God. Galatians 1:10 says, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

When we seek validation from people, we put our self-worth in the hands of those who are just as flawed and uncertain as we are. People’s opinions change. Their praise is fleeting. But God’s love and acceptance are eternal.

Why Do We Seek Approval?

1. Fear of Rejection – No one likes to feel left out or unworthy, so we seek affirmation to feel secure.

2. Low Self-Esteem – When we don’t see our worth through God’s eyes, we look for people to tell us we matter.

3. Comparison – Social media and society make us feel like we need to measure up to a certain standard.

But sis, you were never meant to live for people’s validation.

God’s Approval Is Enough

The only validation that truly matters comes from the One who created you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). You are chosen and set apart (1 Peter 2:9). You are loved beyond measure (Romans 8:38-39).

The moment you realize that God has already approved you, you’ll stop seeking validation from the world. Walk in confidence, knowing that you don’t need likes, applause, or permission to be who God called you to be.

Breaking Free From Approval Addiction

• Pray for God’s affirmation – Ask Him to remind you of your worth daily.

• Limit comparison – Social media isn’t real life. Stop measuring your value against it.

• Say ‘no’ without guilt – People-pleasing is exhausting; set healthy boundaries.

• Speak life over yourself – Remind yourself daily that you are enough.

Sis, when you stop needing everyone’s approval, you start living in God’s purpose. Walk boldly in that truth today!
