Faith: Trusting God When It’s Scary

You know, sometimes trusting God feels scary.

Why? Because our human minds crave certainty. We want to know everything—how things will turn out, what the next step is, and whether everything will be okay. But faith isn’t about knowing. It’s not logical. It’s not even natural. Faith is spiritual.

Trusting God can feel like walking upstairs with no handrails. You can’t see what’s ahead, and you don’t have anything to hold onto—except the promise that He won’t let you fall. And let’s be honest, that can be terrifying.

But that’s exactly what faith is. It’s saying, “God, I trust You with everything I have, even when I don’t understand.”

“My Lord, help us to totally trust in You with everything that we have.”

When we rely on God’s Word, we find strength. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 111:7 that the works of His hands are faithful and just; all His precepts are trustworthy.

In Hebrews 4:12, we’re reminded that the Word of God is powerful—it’s alive and active. And in Matthew 4:4, Jesus says, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

So if you’re struggling to trust, you’re not alone. But don’t let fear win. Faith may feel risky, but God is always faithful. He’s not asking you to understand everything—He’s just asking you to trust Him.
