I don’t know who this is for, but I heard the Lord say this loud and clear:
“When people don’t forgive, they put themselves in My position—as if they are God. That’s pride.”
Let that sink in.
Just because you’ve been hurt does not give you the right to carry unforgiveness. Yes, the pain was real. Yes, they were wrong. But holding on to unforgiveness is not healing—it’s bondage. And pride is its chain.
The Lord reminded me:
“If you don’t forgive, I cannot forgive you.”
That’s His Word, not my opinion (Matthew 6:14-15). When God forgives, He throws it into the sea of forgetfulness. He doesn’t rehearse it. He doesn’t bring it up again. He doesn’t use it against you.
So why do we?
Today, make a choice. Forgive quickly. Let it go. Be free from pride. So your Father in Heaven can also forgive you.
And let me tell you something that may shake you:
That phrase, “I’ll forgive, but I’ll never forget”—
It’s a lie from the pit of hell.
When you truly forgive, you don’t meditate on it. You don’t keep bringing it up. You don’t replay it in your mind like a highlight reel. You release it. You forget it. You let it go—completely.
Just like God did for you.
So stop holding on to that thing. It’s not giving you strength—it’s stealing your peace.
Today is your freedom day. Choose forgiveness. Choose peace. Choose to walk like your Father.
Micah 7:19 (NIV)
“You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”
Hebrews 8:12 (NIV): “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
Matthew 18:21–22 (NIV):
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
