When people are miserable and trapped in religion and rules, they often want to see you miserable along with them. But God has not called us to live in fear or misery. His desire is for us to prosper and be in good health. God’s heart is for us to experience victory, joy, and a full, abundant life.
When people plant seeds of fear and negativity in your life—wishing you to be miserable because they are—it often stems from not truly knowing the heart of God. They don’t realize that He longs for them, too, to live a life filled with prosperity, love, and joy.
The Bible says, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10, NKJV). God’s desire is for us to live an abundant life, to walk in love, and to experience true freedom.
This is why I believe religion when it becomes nothing but rules, laws, and legalism—can be a form of witchcraft. It attempts to control and bind people through fear. But God has not called us to that. According to the New Testament, we are under grace.
Grace gives us the freedom to live in victory, the freedom to be led by the Holy Spirit, and the freedom to win battles in life that once defeated us. Grace is not a license to sin; it is the empowerment to live fully and abundantly, walking in the promises of God.
So know your God. Know who you are in God and what His promises are. Know that you know that freedom is yours today not bondage, not fear, not oppression. Freedom is your inheritance as a child of the King.
Through grace, we walk in love, joy, freedom, and prosperity—the life God has always intended for His children.
