Let’s get this straight—being holy has nothing to do with sin.
There’s a false belief floating around that says, “You’re in sin? Be holy.” As if holiness is something we achieve by doing better or cleaning ourselves up. But that’s not how it works.
Holiness isn’t about what we do. It’s about what God has already done. We don’t make ourselves holy—God makes us holy through His grace. Period.
When God says, “Be ye holy, for I am holy,” He’s not telling us to go fix ourselves. He’s calling us to reflect who He is. He’s inviting us into identity, not performance. It’s like He’s saying, “Because you belong to Me, live like Me. You’re already set apart—now walk in it.”
Holiness isn’t a reward for good behavior. It’s a calling. A position. A gift. You don’t become holy by stopping sin. You stop sin because you understand who you are in Christ—holy, set apart, loved.
So let go of the lie that says holiness is earned. Embrace the truth: holiness is received by grace, not achieved by effort.
