Today is Good Friday, and my heart is heavy—not with sorrow, but with deep gratitude. As I reflect on what Jesus did for me on the cross at Calvary, I find myself overcome with emotion. Tears fall freely because I can’t comprehend what kind of love would send an innocent man—God’s only Son—to die for a sinner like me.
When I meditate on that sacrifice, it’s not just a historical event. It’s personal. He didn’t just die for the world—He died for me. For my sins. For my mistakes. For the chances I didn’t deserve but received anyway. So many times, we take for granted what Jesus did for us. We get caught up in life, in routine, and we forget the weight of the cross.
But not today.
Today, on this Good Friday, I just want to say… Thank You, Jesus.
I shouldn’t even be here. But because You went to the cross and paid the price for me, I am here today. Breathing. Living. Covered by grace. Redeemed.
And I owe You everything.
I owe You my life.
I say this with tears streaming down my face:
Thank You for the ultimate sacrifice.
Words will never be enough.
But I will spend my days trying to live a life that honors You.
Poem: A Good Friday Reflection
Jesus…
Today, I pause. I reflect. I remember.
You didn’t have to do it—but You did.
You carried that cross, bloodied and bruised,
Not just for the world, but for me.
I was the one who messed up.
I was the one who fell short.
But You paid the price I could never afford.
And because of that, I can breathe today.
Live today.
Hope today.
I owe You my life.
And even that feels too small a gift.
So here I am, Jesus…
Thank You.
