Loyal to People, But Not to God? That’s Backwards.

So many people talk about loyalty like it’s the highest badge of honor—and in many ways, it is. But let’s be real: when most people talk about loyalty, they’re only talking about loyalty to other people. They’ll say, “I’m loyal to my day ones,” or “I don’t switch up on my people,” but never once mention being loyal to God.

Let that sink in.

You can be the most loyal friend, the most faithful partner, the most ride-or-die family member—but if your loyalty doesn’t start with God, it’s flawed at the foundation.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even care if a human being claimed to be loyal to me—because if they’re not loyal to God, there’s no way they can truly be loyal to me. Their sense of loyalty is rooted in emotion, circumstance, or convenience—not in truth, faith, and spiritual conviction.

That’s why so many relationships, friendships, and connections fall apart. Because people are loyal to people, but disloyal to the One who gives life, purpose, and love in its purest form.

And a lot of times, this is where the shift happens: our focus turns from God to the world. We start chasing validation, approval, and loyalty from people who are just as broken as we are, instead of anchoring ourselves in God—the only One who’s truly faithful.

Let your loyalty start with God. When He is first, everything else falls into place. You’ll know who to be loyal to, when to let go, and how to love without losing yourself.

Because true loyalty doesn’t start in the flesh—it starts in the Spirit.
