Did you know that about 60% of Christians do not actively pray?
That’s more than half of the Body of Christ living without one of the most essential tools God has given us.
A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.
Prayer is not just a habit it’s a lifeline. It’s how we stay in communion with God, receive direction, walk in spiritual authority, and develop intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
Many Don’t Really Pray They Recite
Here’s the truth: many people don’t truly pray. They pray like children, meaning they say things like:
“Thank You for this food, thank You for blessing us with a house, in Jesus’ name, amen.”
While gratitude is important, that’s not the depth of prayer that builds your spirit or establishes relationship. Others are praying amiss praying out of emotion, selfish desires, or tradition without spiritual direction.
Yet, there are people who spend hours in prayer—not to impress anyone, but because they’ve learned how to fully connect with the heart of God. They’ve disciplined their flesh to submit.
⸻
The Flesh Fights Prayer
Your flesh will do anything not to let you pray for an hour.
It will distract you, make you sleepy, or stir anxiety because the flesh is not interested in spiritual things. Prayer feels uncomfortable to the carnal man because prayer requires discipline.
That’s why Jesus told His disciples:
📖 Matthew 26:40-41 (KJV)
“Could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
If you’re struggling to stay focused in prayer, or can’t go deep—mix prayer with fasting.
Fasting crucifies your flesh and forces your soul to submit. It sharpens your spirit and increases your sensitivity to God.
⸻
It’s Not Just Prayer It’s Faith Behind the Prayer
Another truth: It’s not just the prayer that God hears it’s the faith behind the prayer that He responds to.
📖 Hebrews 11:6
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him…”
Prayer is the channel, but faith is the power source that activates heaven’s response.
⸻
What Does Prayer Really Do?
• Prayer builds your faith.
The more you talk to God, the more you believe Him.
• Prayer builds your spirit.
It develops your inner man and renews your mind.
• Prayer keeps you connected.
Without it, you grow distant from God.
Many people can’t hear God because they’re disconnected in prayer.
When you neglect prayer, you disconnect from the frequency of heaven.
⸻
Let’s Go to the Word:
📖 Luke 18:1 (KJV)
“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.”
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:17
“Pray without ceasing.”
📖 James 5:16 (b)
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
⸻
Let me help you:
• Don’t just say you’re a Christian connect with God.
• Don’t just speak listen.
• Don’t just pray, pray with faith.
• Don’t just ask listen, meditate.
Prayer isn’t a ritual.
It’s a relationship, it’s intimacy
It’s not just words. It’s spiritual.
It’s not about length it’s about connection.
PRAYER:
Lord, forgive me for the times I’ve taken prayer lightly. Help me not to pray amiss or pray just out of habit. Teach me to pray with faith, with focus, and with discipline. Train my spirit to stay alert. Help me overcome the resistance of my flesh. Let me not just speak, but hear from You. I want to go deeper. In Jesus’ name, amen.
