Did you know that rejection is not denial?
As a child of God, when people reject you, it could be because God is protecting you. It could also be that the Lord doesnât want you to be distracted from your purpose. But one thing is for sureâGod has not rejected you! Many in the Bible walked alone, yet they fulfilled their destiny. Even eaglesâyou never see them in a pack. An eagle soars alone. So, rejoice!
Biblical Examples of Rejection That Led to Purpose
⢠Joseph was rejected by his own brothers, sold into slavery, and falsely accusedâyet he became second in command in Egypt! âYou intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.â(Genesis 50:20)
⢠David was rejected and overlooked, even by his own family. But God still chose him to be king. âThe stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.â(Psalm 118:22)
⢠Jesus Himself was despised and rejected, yet He fulfilled the greatest purpose of allâour salvation! âHe was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.â (Isaiah 53:3)
Personal Testimony: Finding Freedom from Rejection
I used to feel so hurt when people, especially the ones I loved, rejected me. I would question my worth, my purpose, and why I wasnât âgood enoughâ in their eyes. But God healed my heart! Now, rejection doesnât bother me because I know who I am and whose I belong to. Instead of dwelling on the pain, I continue to love them and move forward in my purpose, doing what God has called me to do.
Maybe youâve been rejectedâby family, friends, a relationship, a job, or even a church. But let me encourage you today: That rejection was Godâs redirection! He is positioning you for something greater.
