Why do so many in the Christian community suffer from anxiety? Why is the body of Christ, which has been given power, love, and a sound mind, often gripped by fear, worry, and mental torment?
The truth is, anxiety is a spirit—and it has bound many in the church.
We live in a world that constantly feeds fear: through the news, social media, pressure, trauma, and uncertainty. But the deeper issue is this—many believers know of God, but they haven’t fully embraced the authority and peace He freely gives. We recite Scriptures, but we don’t always believe them in the depths of our hearts.
Anxiety takes root when we forget who we are in Christ. It grows when we trust our emotions more than God’s Word. But let me tell you how you can be free:
1. Identify the lie. Anxiety often starts with a false belief—“I’m not safe,” “I’m not enough,” “Something bad will happen.” Replace that lie with truth from God’s Word.
2. Speak the Word out loud. There is power in your mouth. Declare 2 Timothy 1:7, Philippians 4:6-7, and Isaiah 26:3. Speak peace over your mind and body daily.
3. Pray and release control. Anxiety thrives on the illusion of control. But real peace comes when you cast your cares on God (1 Peter 5:7) and trust that He’s in control—even when you’re not.
4. Worship through the worry. Anxiety cannot survive in an atmosphere of worship. When you worship, your spirit aligns with heaven, and fear loses its grip.
5. Seek healing. Some anxiety is rooted in deep trauma or past wounds. Don’t be afraid to seek godly counseling or deliverance. Healing is part of your inheritance.

My Testimony: From Anxiety to Boldness
I used to suffer from anxiety—not just mentally, but physically. The weight of worry caused neck and back pain, sleepless nights, and constant tension in my body. But the real issue wasn’t just anxiety—it was that I didn’t fully trust God.
I knew the Scriptures. I went to church. I prayed. But deep down, I still carried the burden of trying to handle everything myself. That’s where anxiety grew—in the soil of self-reliance.
But when I began to truly trust God—not just with my words, but with my heart—a shift happened. As I laid down my fears and surrendered control, the heaviness began to lift. The tension started to break. I got delivered from the spirit of anxiety. And when I let go, a boldness came over me—boldness to speak, to move, to live without fear.
That boldness didn’t come from me; it came from the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now strengthens me daily. And that same power is available to you.
You don’t have to live anxious another day. Deliverance is real. Peace is possible. And boldness is your birthright as a child of God.
