If you've found me through Tiktok, my blog, or a recommendation, you might be wondering where and how to start reading. I publish my stories on Inkitt and Laterpress and I'll explain why and how to get started below!
Inkitt is a subscription-based reading platform. Instead of buying individual books, readers can access stories through Inkitt Premium, which works similarly to Kindle Unlimited or other subscription libraries.
How it works:
Inkit may be right for you if:
What Inkitt is Not:
Laterpress is a reader-friendly platform where you can buy individual books, read them instantly in your browser, and download EPUBs when the stories are complete. If you prefer to own the stories you love, follow them as they're being written AND access my entire library, Laterpress makes it easy to start reading right away.

What Laterpress is Not:
Laterpress and Inkitt are unique alternatives to Patreon and Kindle Unlimited for self-publishing authors like myself. To put it short, I wanted to create a reading experience that feels reader-friendly and expand my ongoing world without the delay that comes with traditional publishing.
Currently, I have 50 paid subscribers across Laterpress and Inkitt. KU states that authors can't publish in the KU ecosystem AND to ANY other digital platform at the same time. It takes me several months to completely write, edit, and polish a story with over 100k words. To put ALL of my eggs in a basket on the very platform that will terminate my account at any given moment simply doesn't work for me. There are authors out there with over 500 paid monthly subscribers, and one day I'll achieve that goal. I love my 50 reader boos and I can't cut them off just to appease the Zon. My path to growth will not be dependent on Amazon whatsoever, and I have to do what is best for me in my author journey.
KU doesn't allow authors to capture emails and it's honestly extremely harmful to the any writing business. Emails allows authors to build a community around what they're putting out into the world, plain and simple.
The Zon hurts authors with all the restrictions, and I can't trust what will come next. I simply want to write. Not to worry about the next BS email about the rules changing or some shady tactics of KU adjusting/deleting positive reviews on Black stories. On top of that, they are paying authors pennies per page read. Just rude.
All of my ongoing stories can be updated with new chapters as they're written. No one has to wait weeks and months for the next piece of the story and I love that. It's a bonus that reader can support me directly too.
Inkitt and Laterpress let me provide as many free chapters as I like. Depending on the overal length of the story, I can set 10 chapters to read for free if I wanted to.
No Kindle is required. You can read on a phone, tablet, or desktop. All you need is an internet connection.
My goal is to build a world where readers can follow across 30+ interconnected stories that are being told in real time AND have a simple reading experience. This beats crowdfunding and Patreon and gives me the opportunity to write every day and financially support my family. To kiki and have book discussions, my Discord is here. (must be 21+)
