A Photographer's Unexpected Weekend: From Car Accidents to Train Delays

Once upon a weekend, I, your humble photographer, braced myself for a whirlwind of photo shoots, Body paint sessions, silver back drops and a family of 8 children only to find myself caught in a comedy of errors that would rival any Hollywood script.

As the sun rose on Saturday, my gear was ready, my back drop set, and my paints mixed with the anticipation of a busy weekend ahead. Little did I know, fate had a different storyline in mind—one filled with unexpected detours and plot twists.

The saga began with a phone call. It wasn't the typical client inquiry; it was my first booking of the weekend, and their voice was filled with worry. A car accident had struck, and my client was by their friend's side in the hospital throughout the night. While my heart went out to them, it meant my shoot for the day was postponed indefinitely. No one was hurt in the making of this story, but sleepless nights and concerned hearts set the stage for what was to come.

As I tried to navigate through the weekend's unexpected turn of events, Sunday brought its own set of challenges. My client, eager and ready to pose for their family portrait session, found themselves stranded at the mercy of train delays, unable to reach my studio. It seemed like the universe was determined to test my resolve and sense of humour.

But here's the twist: in the face of adversity, there's always room for resilience. So, what did I do with my suddenly free weekend? Well, I embraced the chaos, of course!

Saturday turned into a day of unexpected adventures. With my camera as my companion, I explored London’s streets, capturing the wonders of everyday life. From impromptu street performances to the colourful chaos of urban landscapes, I found beauty in the unlikeliest of places.

And Sunday? Sunday became a day of self-care and reflection. With no clients to photograph, I took the opportunity to recharge, indulging in a leisurely morning of coffee and contemplation.

As the weekend drew to a close, I couldn't help but reflect on the unpredictability of life behind the lens. While the road may be bumpy and the journey filled with unexpected detours, there's a certain magic in embracing the chaos and finding beauty in the unexpected.

So here's to the car accidents, the train delays, and the unexpected twists and turns that make life behind the lens such an exhilarating ride. And most importantly, here's a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there's always a silver lining waiting to be discovered.

And remember, dear readers: no photographers were harmed in the making of this weekend saga.
