Dr. Ty “Swaggalee” Scott is an award-winning entertainment executive, entrepreneur, recording artist, producer, strategist, and visionary leader whose career spans more than three decades across music, film, television, live events, artist development, media, and technology.
As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Single Life Entertainment (SLE), Dr. Scott leads a multi-division entertainment and media enterprise focused on talent development, content creation, live experiences, strategic consulting, technology innovation, and intellectual property ownership. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for helping artists, creators, executives, entrepreneurs, and organizations transform ideas into scalable businesses, sustainable brands, and long-term legacies.
After a career-ending football injury while attending college on a full athletic scholarship, Dr. Scott redirected his passion toward entertainment, beginning an internship with Yab Yum Records under the mentorship of industry executives Cecil Chambers and Angelo Sanders. His early work on Jon B.’s debut project laid the foundation for a remarkable career that would eventually include songwriting, production, artist development, executive leadership, business strategy, consulting, and content creation.
Dr. Scott later signed a publishing deal through Chaka Khan’s Raeven Productions, where he worked alongside acclaimed producers and music executives including David Foster, Steve Kipner, Robert Palmer, and John Lewis Parker. His growing reputation ultimately led to a move into the Edmonds Entertainment and LaFace family of companies under Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Tracey Edmonds, where he contributed to projects involving some of the most influential artists in modern music.
