I decided to make a writing vision board to encourage me on my writing journey.
I’m a visual learner so I thought it would be good to have a mood board for my career. So with images from Pinterest and a template from Canva, I set of on making my writing phone wallpaper and here is the result.

It was fun to make and did the job but it got me thinking about the images I chose. Most of them included the a 'bestseller' stamp on them with articles in the New York Times with glowing reviews. And that’s when I asked myself, why? Sure, it is my dream to be a bestselling author in the future and I believe it’s important to know your why and have a goal and set a vision but I think in the pursuit of that goal, the joy of writing can oftentimes feel lost. Now joy isn’t something you always find and some days you have to crack on with it regardless, but that overall sense of satisfaction with the journey you’re taking and the words you’re writing is important, regardless of the perceived destination.
So I might redo this wallpaper, or better still, make another one. This one will remind me of my goal, the other will remind me to find joy in the little steps along the way.
