I grew up in a family where business was more than just a career; it was a way of life. My mom, a hardworking and visionary woman, started her own printing business called K Printing. As a kid, I didn’t fully understand the intricacies of the business world, but I knew one thing: I wanted to be part of it. I spent countless hours beside her, learning the ropes, understanding how a small business ran, and seeing firsthand the sweat, the hustle, and the rewards that came with it. Little did I know that my journey would take me in directions I never expected, but would ultimately circle back to the world I grew up in.
A Passion for Print and the Desire for a Backup
Growing up in a business family, the idea of entrepreneurship was always in the back of my mind. Working in the printing industry felt natural, but I wasn’t entirely sure that would be the path I would take long-term. While I had a passion for print, I also wanted a backup plan—something that could offer stability if the business world didn’t turn out to be my true calling.
I followed that instinct and decided to explore another passion of mine—food. Specifically, baking. I enrolled at the Art Institute of Nashville-TN and majored in Culinary Arts with a concentration in Baking and Pastry. It was a dream to create and experiment in the kitchen, but something was always missing. My heart kept pulling me back to technology and computers, another lifelong interest that I’d never fully explored. I always felt like I needed to keep my options open, and that backup plan was my ticket in case my other pursuits didn’t pan out.
I graduated in 2012, a proud member of the class, ready to take on the world—equipped with a culinary degree and a head full of ideas, but unsure of exactly where I would land.

The Shift to Technology & My First Business Venture
After college, I quickly realized that my true passion was in technology. I dove into the tech world, but I still wanted to hold onto the entrepreneurial spirit that had been passed down to me from my mom. So, I started my first side business—Kings Kreation’s. I offered tech consulting and web services while balancing a full-time job. I was working at Office Depot in their Copy & Print Center, and it was there that I began to see how much my childhood experiences at K Printing had shaped my understanding of the industry.
Within a year, I was promoted to Manager of the Copy & Print Center. Everything seemed to be going according to plan. I was gaining experience, building my business, and becoming more confident in my skills. But life has a way of throwing curveballs when you least expect them.
A Life-Changing Decision
At the time, I was pregnant, and the stress of balancing a full-time job, managing my side business, and preparing for motherhood began to take a toll on my health. I started fainting at work. My doctor became concerned and ultimately made me face a hard truth: I needed to choose between my job and my baby. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. But in my heart, I knew I couldn’t continue at the job without compromising my health and the health of my baby.
So, I made the leap. I left my job at Office Depot, put all my faith in God, and went full-time into Kings Kreation's. I didn’t have a clear-cut plan. I didn’t have all the answers. But I had faith. I had determination. And I had a vision. It was a leap into the unknown, but sometimes in life, you have to take risks to discover what you’re truly capable of.
Where It All Began
That was the pivotal moment—where it all began. From there, things started to fall into place. My passion for technology and print, along with the lessons I learned from my mom’s business, began to converge in ways I couldn’t have predicted. Kings Kreation's grew, and the work I did not only helped me build a career, but it also reignited the spark I had for the printing industry. I learned that the skills I developed, both from my early experiences with K Printing and my love for technology, would allow me to build something unique.
I learned that the backup plan, the “what if” path I thought I needed, was never really a backup at all—it was part of the journey. Each experience, each decision, led me closer to where I was meant to be. What started as a side project blossomed into my full-time business, and now I’m doing what I’ve always loved—combining technology and printing in new, innovative ways.
The Future
Looking back, I realize that Kings Kreation’s is more than just a business to me. It’s a symbol of faith, of resilience, and of listening to that inner voice that tells you to keep going, even when the path isn’t clear. I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I’m no longer afraid to take that next step, whatever it may be. I know that with hard work, determination, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way, I’m prepared for whatever comes next.
And so, this is how it all started—not just with a business, but with a leap of faith, a passion for print and technology, and the unwavering belief that sometimes, you have to let go and trust that the journey will lead you exactly where you need to be.
