Welcome! Iām so glad you found your way here.
If we were visiting in person, chances are weād be sitting around my kitchen table with a cup of coffee, talking about whatās for supper, what needs done this week, how expensive groceries have gotten, something happening on the farmāand probably swapping a few ideas for making life just a little easier.
Thatās exactly what I want this blog to feel like.
From my kitchen table to yours, this is a place for practical ideas for real life. Not perfect homes, complicated systems, or recipes that require half a day and ingredients youāve never heard of. Just useful things that can help you save a little time, stretch your budget, feed your family, earn a little extra money, and enjoy home and family along the way.
Around the Farmhouse Kitchen š¤
The kitchen is at the heart of so much of what I share.
Youāll find simple, family-friendly recipes made with ingredients you can actually find at the grocery storeāand probably quite a few you already have in your pantry.
Weāll talk about:
- Easy weeknight suppers and farmhouse comfort food
- Meal planning without making it complicated
- Freezer cooking and make-ahead meals
- Meal prep that actually makes busy weeks easier
- Cooking from your pantry and freezer first
- Homemade versions of foods we normally buy
- Kitchen shortcuts and helpful tips
- Grocery budgeting and reducing food waste
- Stocking a practical pantry and freezer
- Seasonal recipes and family favorites
Some weeks we may fill the freezer. Other weeks, getting supper on the table at all deserves a gold star. Both count.
Making Home a Little Easier
Running a household requires an amazing amount of behind-the-scenes work.
Remembering the laundry detergent.
Figuring out supper.
Restocking toilet paper.
Cleaning out the refrigerator.
Making appointments.
Keeping track of whatās in the freezer.
Remembering that youāre almost out of coffee before tomorrow morning. āļø
I love finding simple systems that take some of that mental load off our plates.
So weāll also talk about home organization, household restocking, cleaning routines, shopping smarter, keeping necessities on hand, simplifying everyday chores and creating realistic routines that work for your season of life.
Nothing has to be Pinterest-perfect.
It just needs to make your life work a little better.
Making a Little Extra From Home š»
This has also become an important part of Farm Wife Favorites.
Sometimes an extra $50 matters.
Sometimes the goal is an extra $500 a month.
And sometimes youāre ready to see whether something you enjoy doing could eventually become a meaningful source of income.
Iāll share what Iām learning about earning from home, including digital products, affiliate marketing, social media, blogging, passive-income ideas and other realistic ways to bring in additional income.
And this isnāt just for one age or stage of life.
Maybe youāre a mom who wants to contribute financially while being home with your children.
Maybe youāre working full-time and need some breathing room in the budget.
Maybe the kids have grown and youāre wondering whatās next.
Maybe youāre approaching retirementāor already thereāand would love some extra spending money.
Or maybe you simply want to prove to yourself that you can build something of your own.
You donāt have to be 20, tech-savvy, or have a huge social-media following to start learning.
Iāll share whatās working, what Iām trying, what Iāve learned along the wayāand probably a few things that didnāt work, too.
And, Of Course, A Little Farm Life š¾
Farm Wife Favorites wouldnāt be Farm Wife Favorites without some farm life mixed in.
There will be planting seasons and harvest seasons, tractors and weather watching, beautiful growing crops and long days.
But Iāll also share some of what happens beyond the pretty farm pictures.
Being a farm wife has taught me a lot about marriage, family, hard work, patience, changing plans, making do, gratitude, community and trusting that tomorrow is another day.
Some of those lessons have very little to do with farmingāand everything to do with life.
This Is Your Kitchen-Table Kind of Place
You donāt need to live on a farm to belong here.
You donāt even need to cook from scratch.
Come for a recipe.
Stay for a household tip.
Try a freezer meal.
Download a $5 guide that saves you some time.
Learn a new way to earn a few extra dollars.
Find something that helps stretch the grocery budget.
Read a little story from farm life.
Or simply pour yourself another cup of coffee and visit for a while.
My hope for Farm Wife Favorites is pretty simple:
If something I share saves you time, saves you money, helps you put supper on the table, gives you an idea you hadnāt considered, encourages you to try something new, or just makes an ordinary day a little easierāthen this little corner of the internet is doing exactly what I hoped it would.
So welcome to the blog. š¤
Pull up a chair.
From my kitchen table to yours, Iām glad youāre here.
