Its time for another bi-weekly blog post again!
Sorry it took me a bit, but at least I'm not late this time!
I was having a hard time deciding what to write this week.
But I thought why not talk about the new stickers which I believe you have seen but I've also started working on some new art, including some that will liven up my YouTube, other social media and website.
I'm going full force with mini Bree being the mascot, i removed her cat tail by mistake and firefly jar, but I think this design she has now works for her. I also decided having the dark greens and browns was not the way to go for me brand wise, but she still has the Celtic/fantasy look that I love, and I also decided a long braided hair style would work best for her instead of the short style I always do.
Of course you noticed her eyes changed from anime to the dot eyes I use in all my art now, which I think works better and fits more on brand with my style. This might change in the future but for now I do quite like it and will do more characters like this instead of the anime eyes.
As you noticed I've started to try to make some motivational stickers as well, cause its not just me that needs to hear them, its also those around me as well. And sometimes I feel a sticker reminder is perfect for those who need a small pick me up when facing hard times, or just feeling emotionally spent.
Lately I've felt like a failure with my shop since sales has been quite slow, but no matter what kind of small business you started and don't see progress with you are not a failure, you are just still growing. Its the one thing I forget a lot about and get discouraged very often.
But anyway on to what I've been working on, I have not started on the other art prints as of yet, as I've been overly focused on stickers and changing up some branding art as well. I've even sketched out an idea for a new thank you card, and decided to add a cute adventuring frog to the bottom of it, much like the one you see on my banner. I felt him looking like a plushie would make more sense, and add a nice cute touch.
Like I've mentioned as well I've been working on motivational stickers, and funny enough sometimes they just come up out of the blue. Sometimes I know it isn't just me that feels that way as well, its others as well. So I feel having these little stickers as reminders is great for others who struggle as well, and also just want a cute sticker to decorate say their water bottle, journal, or even their laptop. I love to place stickers even my failed ones all over my sketch book, used to place them on my desk and they are all over the back of my monitor as well lol. I want to make a nice sticker that will look well on my ps5 controller actually just to give it that Bree touch, if you know what I mean.
I've even placed stickers on my tablet stand that I use to hold up my ipad, it helps for me not to strain my neck alot and cause me to feel nauseated or dizzy from looking down at the tablet for long periods of time.
Anyway I think this is a good spot to stop with this blog post, I've included a picture so you can see some behind the scenes of what I've worked on that came from my sketch book and even a picture of me editing a sticker in the program I use called krita. What I do is I outline and color in the sketch on my ipad with procreate, and then send it over to krita to add the sticker outline as its a bit easier sometimes to use krita at times, although if a sticker calls for it like the the You're not a failure sticker, then sometimes I might have to make the outline in procreate, but that is a very rare case.
Anyway this ends off the bi-weekly blog post for this week, I'll be back again in another two weeks, with possibly more updates, or just general chat maybe? I'm not sure I get lost on what to write, but I hope you all don't mind, as I feel this gives you all a insight into what I've been up too and understanding who I am as an Artist. I've wondered though if many of you would like to just hear about my streaming side of things, since I do stream some games from time to time, just recently I streamed star stable online twice just so I could level up my newest horse or mule I should say. I had two horse in the way before that though, but I love my new mule who I named Goblin lol.
Anyway enough side-tracking I'm going to end the blog post here, and I hope to see you all again in the next blog post, maybe I might talk about games I enjoy or games I stream, might be nice to share my other hobbies.
