The Heart Behind From Nature's Heart



Hello, I'm Jo Martin, the creator and owner of From Nature's Heart, a small, home-based business nestled in the countryside of Keithville, Louisiana.

First and foremost, I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. My husband and I have shared nearly 45 wonderful years of marriage, and I am blessed to have his constant love, encouragement, and support. Together, we have raised six children — three sons and three daughters — and our family has grown to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family has always been at the center of my life, and it remains one of my greatest blessings.

Before beginning this new chapter, I enjoyed a rewarding career as a Special Education teacher. Teaching taught me so much about patience, compassion, creativity, and the importance of appreciating the uniqueness of every individual. Although I am now retired from the classroom, those values remain very much a part of who I am.

I've always loved the simple pleasures of country living, the beauty of nature, and the satisfaction of making something with my own hands. Retirement gave me the opportunity to explore those interests more deeply, and what began as a creative pastime gradually blossomed into From Nature's Heart.

Today, I enjoy creating handcrafted soaps, lotions, perfumes, balms, and other bath and body products. I especially love experimenting with botanical ingredients, blending beautiful fragrances, and developing products that make everyday moments feel a little more special.

I have always believed that the little things matter. Whether it's choosing ingredients, perfecting a recipe, or adding the finishing touches to a package, I take pride in the details. My goal is to create products that are thoughtfully made, beautifully presented, and something I would be happy to share with my own family.

After years devoted to teaching and raising a family, I have discovered that retirement isn't the end of doing meaningful things. It's simply the beginning of a new adventure, with more time to learn, create, and follow the interests that bring me joy.

From Nature's Heart is a reflection of the life I love — family, faith in the value of simple things, creativity, and an appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.
