Let's Go!

Tom Sawyer had this way of saying “I’m headed down the river”.

to which the people around him would basically say “Can I come?”

This is not a fund raiser. It’s not Kickstarter.

It’s more like an adventure and I want to invite you

because adventures are always better when shared.

I hate doing them alone.

I'm headed down the river. Want to join me?

There's just one problem...

So what does this adventure actually look like?

Well, when people ask me what a normal day looks like, I usually have to laugh. There's not a whole lot that's "normal" about my normal.

Here's one example.

Some go. Some send. Everyone matters.

"You Send Me. Honest you do. Honest you do. Honest you do." - Sam Cooke

Well... you can.

And that matters more than you might realize, because there are people out there who need help. Not just any help, and not just any help—they need help from God Himself.

The good news is “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” - Romans 10:13

Think about that for a moment.

Everyone who calls out to God gets God's attention. God's love. God's help. God's mercy. God's forgiveness.

Everyone who asks—gets it.

Incredible.

So, why wouldn’t someone call out to God?

The answer is simpler—and sadder—than we might think.

“But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?” - Romans 10:14–17

People don’t call out to God because they don’t know they can trust God.

And they don’t know they can trust God because… they haven’t heard.

And they haven’t heard because someone has to tell them.

And someone has to tell them because someone has to go.

Someone has to be sent.

God’s Plan Has Always Been Sending

This is how God works. He calls people—and then He sends them.

Jesus did this with His closest friends and followers. In Luke 10 Jesus sent out seventy people ahead of Him into towns and places He was about to go.

And then He said something powerful:

“The harvest is huge, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers…”

First, Jesus sent people.

Then He told us to ask God to send more.

Why?

Because without people being sent, no one hears.

And if no one hears… no one asks.

And if no one asks… they never experience the help of God.

This Isn’t Easy Work

Jesus didn’t sugarcoat it. He said:

“I’m sending you out like lambs among wolves so travel light.”

This is meaningful work—but it’s not always comfortable or safe.

That's why Jesus told them: “Whoever listens to you listens to Me.”

This matters deeply. It matters eternally.

Even Jesus Was Sent

Think about that.

God sent Jesus.

And when Jesus came, He lived simply. He even said He had no place to lay His head.

And He grew up a carpenter—a carpenter who didn’t even build Himself a place to live.

No, instead He relied on the generosity, hospitality, and support of others.

Even Jesus’ mission was sustained by people who gave.

That’s not a side note—that’s part of the design. Part of the way God does things.

A Moment That Changed Everything for Me

There’s a passage in the Bible that I’ve never been able to shake.

The prophet Isaiah sees a vision of God, and in that moment, he becomes deeply aware of God’s holiness and the brokenness of the world around him.

That's when God asks Isaiah a question:

“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

Thank God Isaiah responded with:

“I’ll go. Send me!”

When I read that in Bible college I couldn’t stop crying. I was experiencing just a fraction of God’s heart for people—people who are hurting, searching, and in need of His help.

And in that moment, I told God the same thing:

“I’ll go.”

Then God asked me a question.

Was I serious?

Would I go anywhere He sent me?

I knew a line was being drawn. Once I crossed it, there was no going back.

After a long time of wrestling, praying, and counting the cost…

I didn't just say yes, I begged Him to let me go.

Here's Where You Come In

I’m willing to go.

But I can’t go if I’m not sent.

And that’s where you come in.

This is more than an adventure, it's also a partnership.

Some go.

Others send.

Both matter.

Both are necessary!

So I’m asking you:

Will you be one of the ones God uses to send me?

You don't have to go with me to be part of where I'm going.

You can send me.

Let’s Change That

If something in you is stirring—if you feel led to be part of this adventure—then welcome.

Welcome to what I like to call:

The Senders Club.

The Senders Club is a group of people who have decided to come along for the adventure—to help make it possible for me to go where God sends me.

Along the way, I’ll share stories of the people I meet, what God is doing, the crazy things that happen along the way, and the impact you’re helping create.

And I imagine there will be a few surprises along the way too.

so what does a sender actually do?

Honestly? You come along for the ride.

You're helping send me where God opens doors, but you're also going to get to see what happens when I get there.

I'll share the stories of the people I meet, the places I go, the conversations I have, the things that work, the things that don't, and the unexpected moments that I'm pretty sure God has waiting for us.

You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the adventure—not just the polished version after everything is finished.

And this isn't a one-way street. I want your ideas, your questions, your encouragement, and even the doors you think I should knock on.

You're part of the crew.

I'll be sharing updates along the way, and we'll have opportunities to actually talk—not just read about what's happening.

Because adventures are better when they're shared.

So...are you coming?
