Simple Mandala Watercolor

I love drawing and painting animals and people. I truly love it. However, when I am feeling lower energy, or just need to recoup my creative juices, I really love doodling, or doing an easy watercolor painting. This simple watercolor mandala fits the bill! If you don’t have watercolors on hand, you can use just pencil or pen, or add in color with colored pencils. Easy peasy! The thing that I love is that there is no wrong way to do this. So it’s a nice way to practice not judging myself or my art. I hope this exercise gives you a sense of ease as well. Here are the materials and instructions:

Materials:

1. Paper and Pencil and/or sharpie

2. Sharpie

3. Watercolors

4. Water, paintbrush, cloth or paper towel

To de-stress:

1. Draw or trace a circle

2. Divide it into 4 or more even-ish pie pieces

3. Draw repeating patterns/designs in the pie pieces

4. Optional-trace patterns with sharpie and erase pencil marks if desired

5. Choose the colors you want, and paint! *The key here is to try not to judge your mandala. Just enjoy the process. If you don’t end up happy with the final product, that’s okay—that happens to all of us! Think about what you might want t try next time, and do it again soon! There truly is no right or wrong here ❤️. Check out my time-lapse if you'd like a bit of inspiration. Feel free to subscribe to my you-tube channel so you'll know when I put out new tutorials!
