You Are Already Righteous: Embracing Your Identity in Christ

One of the greatest revelations I ever received about my Father God was understanding my identity in Christ. But let me be honest, it didn’t happen overnight. It took years of studying, questioning, and wrestling with Scripture before the truth finally clicked. But once it did, everything changed.

I stopped striving to earn God’s approval and started resting in what He had already done for me. And let me tell you, that shift was life-changing.

One of the key truths that transformed my walk with Jesus was this: I am righteous in Christ Jesus, not because of anything I did, but because of what He did. That one truth changed how I saw myself, approached God, and lived out my faith.

But here’s what shocked me: when I stepped into ministry, I quickly realized that many Christians had never grasped this truth.

I would preach about our righteousness in Christ, expecting people to be as excited as I was. Instead, I was often met with confusion, hesitation, or even resistance. Some would nod politely but still carry the weight of guilt and condemnation. Others would reject the idea entirely, convinced that righteousness had to be earned through good behavior.

It amazed me, and honestly, it saddened me, how many believers were still living as though they had to earn their way into God's favor when Jesus had already made them fully accepted.

This isn’t just a small misunderstanding; it’s a major issue. Even today, a large portion of the church struggles under the weight of guilt, self-doubt, and an endless pursuit of spiritual perfection, hoping that one day they’ll finally be “good enough” for God.

But that’s not how God sees us!

When He looks at us, He doesn’t see our past mistakes, our failures, or our shortcomings. He sees us through Jesus, clothed in righteousness, fully accepted, and completely loved.

That’s why I wrote this blog. My heart is to present God’s view of righteousness in a way that is clear, biblical, and deeply personal. Because once you really understand this truth, it will change everything.

It will change how you pray; no more coming to God feeling unworthy.

It will change how you face challenges because you’ll know you’re standing on solid ground.

It will change how you see yourself—no more questioning your worth or doubting your place in God’s family.

And most importantly, it will change how you relate to God as a Father, because you’ll finally stop striving and start resting in His love.

This isn’t just some biblical idea; it’s personal, practical, and powerful. I know what it’s like to feel unworthy, to wonder if I’ve done enough, to live under the weight of self-doubt. But I also know the freedom that comes from understanding that my righteousness is not something I achieve; it’s something I receive through Jesus.

And that freedom is available to you, too.

So, let’s dive in together. Let’s break free from the lies that have held us back. Let’s step boldly into the grace, confidence, and joy that come from knowing who we are in Christ.

Are you ready? Let’s begin.
