So you want to determine your BEST posting times on Instagram and beat the algorithm?
Okay, so I am going to spill the tea....
The algorithm uses timeliness as one of the seven important factors that determine a successful post. Why does timeliness matter? Let me explain, whenever you share a post around the time majority of your audience is most likely to be active this increases the likelihood of getting more eyes on your business and engagement. The timeliness of your post implies that you would be posting around the time your audience comes on Instagram.
Here's how to check your insights:
- Go to your dashboard from your profile
- In accounts insights, go to total followers
- Scroll down to the most active times
- Under hours, you will see the average times followers are active per day.

I know you're probably asking yourself, what if they still do NOT engage? That is because the algorithm goes beyond just one factor (understanding your BEST posting times). It can depend on the RELEVANCE of the content you share and if it is aligned with your target audience
To be honest, once you know your target audience better than anyone else you can come up with a hypothesis. For example, you can have the best time to post video content which will differ from the best time to post a product image.
