They come to work. They sit in meetings. They hit their targets. And they carry it completely alone.
Domestic abuse does not stay at the front door when a man leaves for work in the morning. It follows him. It affects his concentration, his relationships with colleagues, his ability to make decisions, his mental health. And in most organisations, there is no framework, no training, and no language to even begin to address it.
That is the conversation I have come to have.
Who I am
My name is Jared Whitaker. I am an Amazon bestselling author of nine books on domestic abuse, narcissism, coercive control, and the male experience of trauma. I am a male domestic abuse survivor. I spent twenty years in the corporate world, including four years as CEO of a global software business. And I left all of it to write and advocate for the men the system has forgotten.
I have been featured on Sky TV and the BBC. I am the founder of Leave No Man Behind, a grassroots movement now active across 22 locations in 5 countries and 14 cities, placing books into the hands of men in crisis in refuges, prison libraries, and GP surgeries. I am a member of the Professional Speaking Association.
