Have You Ever Heard Someone Say Being a Christian is Boring?
Honestly, I have—and at one point in my life, I probably would have nodded my head in agreement.
But now? I know better.
You see, religion (not relationship with God, but dry, stiff religion) has done a masterful job of making people think following Jesus means a life of boredom and restrictions. But guess what? That couldn't be further from the truth!
From the very beginning of time, it has always been God's heart for us to rule and ENJOY this amazing life He created. Just flip to Genesis 1:26–31, and you'll see it for yourself.
Think about it:
The shady trees that offer a cool escape on a hot day...
The bright, breathtaking flowers that look like splashes of God’s paintbrush...
The twinkling stars that light up the night sky...
The endless wonder of outer space, the refreshing breeze, the awe of seeing a lion up close, the peaceful rippling of lakes, the majestic roar of waterfalls, and the beautiful changes of the seasons — God made ALL of that with YOU in mind.
And here’s the best part: He didn’t stop there!
After crafting all that beauty, God said, “Now, go use the creativity I placed inside you and keep making life even more beautiful and enjoyable.”
In other words, the things you love—delicious food, stylish clothes, good music, exciting travels, cozy homes, cool electronics—are all part of the life He’s gifted you to enjoy!
Now, you might be thinking,
"But Jasmine, aren’t people obsessed with things nowadays?"
You’re absolutely right. Overindulgence can be a real problem.
But listen carefully: God is not against you having things—He just doesn't want the things to have you.
It’s about balance. And when you’re flowing with the Holy Spirit, He’ll guide you effortlessly.
Here's something even deeper:
Being a Christian doesn’t just mean you get to enjoy life—it means you’re protected too.
God’s ways aren't about keeping you from fun; they’re about keeping you safe from hidden dangers that can steal your joy, your peace, and even your future.
When you follow Jesus, He builds a guardrail around your life—not to trap you, but to keep you from falling into things that would harm you.
True freedom isn’t living recklessly; it’s living wisely, without fear, shame, or regret holding you hostage.
His boundaries create freedom.
You get to live wide open, dream big, and have real joy—without the traps the enemy tries to set.
Here’s the truth: Christians have the freedom to choose like anyone else.
We could live wildly and carelessly if we wanted.
But God’s heart is for us to live intentionally—joyfully, boldly, and safely—growing into everything He designed us to be.
Your enjoyment is EVERYTHING to God.
The Bible even says it loud and clear:
"So go eat your food and ENJOY it; drink your wine and be HAPPY, because that is what God wants you to do."
— Ecclesiastes 9:7 (ACV)
