Today I spent time in Proverbs 22.
Some of the verses that stood out to me where these.
"Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease." - Proverbs 22:10
Have you ever had a relationship where there was constant tension and strife? I have had more than one. No matter what it seemed that arguments happened or there was unease between us. It was sometimes hard for me to notice because I focused on the positives of the relationship. It was only after I broke things off that I realized just how much peace I had been forfeiting. I learned something really valuable about this...that the hallmark of a Godly relationship is going to be peace. There won't be strife or contention present.
Yes, you heard that right. So, if you're experiencing constant strife in your relationship then cast out the scorner and you will have your peace back. And you can know that if there isn't peace you are not in the right relationship.
