So if you follow my blog, you likely saw the absolute garbage fire that my royalties turned out to be through Audible. In happier news, that has brought many of you to my Payhip for the first time! So thank you for being here and supporting me directly. It means a lot, and I'm genuinely grateful.
Some kind souls have also pointed out that I said in my last blog post that I was going to increase the prices of the audiobook(s) once Pride was over and were worried I was selling at a loss. Guessing how poorly my royalties were going to be from other platforms (though not quite fully predicting how bad they'd be), I'd already decided to price the audiobooks lower on my Payhip in the hopes of generating more direct income that way.
Having now seen how poorly my royalties are going to be from most major retailers, I've decided to keep them as low and affordable on my Payhip as possible, as even underselling them here gains me more profit than selling at full price on Audible, as Audible takes 80% of the final sale, while Payhip takes only 5%.
Quite the difference, I think you'll agree.
So, anyway, thank you to everyone who messaged me concerned over the Payhip prices! I had intended to post another blog post here announcing my decision to keep them at $18.99+ (The + means you can pay what you want as a 'tip' if you wish to); life just kept happening so much that I've not had time to sit down and deal with things.
Thanks again to everyone buying my work and gifting copies to their friends. I'm so thankful for all of you, and I'll make sure Holly Mop gets some extra treats this month.
