🌿 Food for Thought: Get Up and Move!

When you’ve been sick—physically, emotionally, or even spiritually—you can’t just lay in it. You’ve got to get up and move! Wash yourself. Clean the area you’ve been laying in. Shake off what’s been trying to hold you captive and take a step toward the life God has for you.

Too often we stay stuck, waiting for someone else to lift us, encourage us, or fix what’s broken. But there comes a time when you must rise up and say, “Enough!” There’s healing power in movement—both in your body and in your spirit. You may not feel strong yet, but faith doesn’t wait for feelings. Faith acts on the Word of God.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
— Isaiah 60:1

You might be the only reflection of Jesus someone sees today. So what are you showing them? Are you showing defeat or determination? Discouragement or faith? When people look at you, do they see someone crushed by the weight of life or someone who refuses to stay down because Christ lives within them?

David understood this when he found himself surrounded by loss and grief. Scripture says, “But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” (1 Samuel 30:6). There was no one to pull him up—he had to reach deep within and remind himself who God is and what God had promised. Sometimes, your greatest comeback begins when you speak life into your own weary soul.

You may not be at your best right now, but you cannot stay where you are.

This is the day the Lord has made—so rejoice in it. Move in it. Live in it. Because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is still alive and active in you.

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”
— Romans 8:11

So today—

Get up. Clean up. And look up.

Your strength doesn’t come from your circumstance; it comes from your Savior. And when you rise, you become a testimony of what it looks like to walk in resurrection power every single day.
