Good morning to all you beautiful souls,
After the whirlwind adventure of yesterday, today has been all about slowing down and soaking up the peaceful vibes of Sanur. No early alarms or packed itineraries—just a quiet, leisurely day spent on the beach, catching up with my book and enjoying the simple pleasures Bali has to offer.
We spent most of the day lounging by the sea, with the sound of the waves gently rolling in as the perfect background music. Sanur’s beachfront has such a charming, laid-back feel, with its palm-lined pathways, colourful fishing boats bobbing in the water, and stalls selling everything from woven bags to carved trinkets. It’s the kind of place where time seems to stretch and slow, encouraging you to just 'be'.
By late afternoon, we decided to take a gentle stroll along the promenade. The sea breeze was warm and soothing, and it felt good to stretch our legs and mooch at the little stalls that lined the walkway. There’s something about browsing these makeshift markets, where each stall seems to tell a tiny story of Bali’s culture and craftsmanship, that I find endlessly fascinating.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, we found the perfect spot for an early evening bite.....a small beach café with tables and chairs nestled under the shade of a massive tree. We ordered simple, delicious food and spent the next hour people-watching and whiling away the time. There’s a magic to just sitting back and watching the world go by, letting the rhythm of Bali set the pace.
After dinner, we wandered back along the shoreline, toes sinking into the soft, warm sand. The beach was dotted with little treasures, so we took our time beachcombing, looking for unusual shells and interesting objects washed ashore. It’s amazing how even the smallest, simplest finds can feel like little gifts from the sea.
It was one of those days that highlighted how special this place is and how important it is to take the chance to slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy the beauty of the present. There was no rush, no need to tick anything off a list, just the sound of the waves, the feel of the sun on my skin, and the joy of being here.
Tomorrow, we’re planning to be up early to catch the sunrise over the sea, something I’ve been looking forward to since we arrived. So it's an early night for us tonight so we're ready for whatever comes next.
Sending love and a little slice of serenity
