Hello again beautiful,
So day 6 is our last full day in Sanur, and it’s been the perfect blend of peace, reflection, and soaking in the charm of this beautiful seaside town.
We started early, heading down to the beach to watch the sunrise. There’s something so grounding about sitting quietly by the sea as the first light spills across the horizon. The waves rolled gently against the shore, and the sky came alive with hues of deep purple, soft pink, and golden amber. For a moment, everything felt perfectly still, as though Bali itself was holding its breath.
After sunrise, we strolled to breakfast and we were tucking in by 6:30am. After breakfast we lingered on the terrace, sipping coffee and gazing out at the sea. The day promised to be hot and sunny, with no rain clouds in sight, so after returning to our room and packing up ready for our transfer, we spent most of the day lounging by the pool. The water sparkled in the sunlight, the sun felt glorious and today I took extra care to apply my suncream evenly (more on this later).
As evening approached and the air began to cool, we took a stroll into Sanur centre to browse the market stalls. The colours, the smells, the chatter of vendors; it all felt like a quintessential Bali moment. We stopped for dinner at the little restaurant we’d fallen in love with earlier in the week, and once again, it didn’t disappoint.
After dinner, we decided to take a different route back to the hotel. We wandered down a little side street to the sea front, passing amazing temples along the way and then walked back to our hotel along the shore. The sound of live music drifted from the beach bars, mingling with the waves lapping the sand. We paused now and then to take it all in, letting the melody and magic of Sanur settle into our hearts.
As our time in Sanur ends, I’ve been reflecting on the past week....the chaos, the beauty, and everything in between! It’s funny how travel has a way of teaching you things, often in the most unexpected ways. So here are a few lessons I’ve learned on this adventure:
1. Always apply suncream evenly. Trust me, there’s nothing quite like discovering a fiery red triangle at the top of your thigh that you somehow missed, despite slathering lotion everywhere else. Let’s just say it’s a lesson I’ll 'definitely' remember next time.
2. Pack a sense of humour. When you’re wading through flooded streets or watching your luggage disappear into the abyss, laughter truly is the best remedy.
3. Embrace the unexpected. Whether it’s getting lost (again) or spotting a monkey dressed as a cowboy, the unplanned moments are often the most memorable.
Tomorrow, we’re heading to our next destination: a villa just outside Ubud, perched on the edge of the rainforest. This is the part of the trip I’ve been most excited about. Ubud has a reputation for its healing energy, spiritual rituals, and inspiring creativity, and I can’t wait to immerse myself in all of it. Exploring unique healing modalities and discovering fresh perspectives and practices are definitely on my agenda. I’m looking forward to finding inspiration that I can bring into my own journey and bring to Kamala Blossom to share with you
Bali has already given me so much, but I have a feeling Ubud will take it to an entirely new level.
Until tomorrow, sending love and healing energy from Sanur.
Love, Jayne
