Hello!

As I write this it is three days until 2022's Fasten Off Yarn Along. This is my second year participating as a designer. I have new patterns this year that I'm very excited about.

The first new pattern is the Inky Shawlette. My other new hobby is fountain pens and the colorful and sometimes sparkly inks. This shawlette was created in homage to these beautiful pens and ink.

The shape is a vortex, a curved asymmetrical triangle. The rows are worked straight but they angle at a diagonal upon wearing. It's easily memorized and works great as a TV or doctor's office knit. Because the lace is subtle this shawlette works well with high-contrast hand-dyed yarns. It would look stunning in a solid or heathered colorway as well.

The second shawlette is the Harvest Shawlette. This shawlette is another asymmetrical triangle, but this one does not curve as you wear it. The majority of this shawlette is stockinette stitch with a traditional double leaf lace panel working up along the right edge.

Because of the lace panel it's recommended that you use a solid, semi-solid, or faintly contrasted yarn. You won't want your hard work getting lost due to too many widely different colors.

Both of these shawlettes work up fast and are highly attractive when worn. You can enlarge them easily by simply using more yarn.

I greatly enjoyed making these patterns and I hope you like them as much as I do!
