Today, we are going to cover…. Knowing how to address who you are talking to when you create your content and make sure you are using the exact language of your ideal client.
One question I often get asked when talking about speaking to their ideal client in the content they create is….
“How do I do this?”
I can’t stress to you enough how important it is to create content that speaks to your ideal client and today that is what I am going to share with you.
Are you ready?
Let’s go….
Understand Your Ideal Client
You can’t speak to your ideal client if you don’t fully UNDERSTAND your ideal client.
You want to understand your ideal client from the inside out. Everything they think, feel, want, desire, struggle with, excites them, etc.
Approach this as if you were walking a day in their shoes.
Ok, If you are anything like me this explanation isn’t helping you one bit but don’t stress out just yet because I have some questions to help make this a little easier.
Make sure when you are answering these questions you are answering them as if you were asking them directly to your ideal client.
Fears…
What do they worry about?
What will they lose if they don’t deal with these fears in their life and/or business?
Hopes…
What do they secretly wish was true about their life or business situation?
What is the dream solution for their life and/or business that they would just about give or pay anything for?
Focus On Your Language
When creating content it’s sooooo important that you are using the exact language that your ideal client uses every single day.
Here’s an example:
Common word: Landing Page
>>> Most people know what a landing page is in the coaching industry. It’s the most common word used in reference to the steps needed to build your email list.
Less commonly used words for LANDING PAGE:
Squeeze page
Opt in page
Sales page
Lead page
Lead capture page
If you were to create a post around the must have elements of a squeeze page I would immediately keep scrolling because I have no interest in learning something new.
If you were to create a post around the must have elements of a landing page I would stop and read because that could be something I want to know more about.
In a more simple explanation….
If your ideal client has to keep stopping to Google the meaning of the words you are using in your post then you are not speaking their language.
Keep it simple.
Don’t try to position yourself as an expert with your wording, do it by creating usable and valuable content.
That’s it.
2 more simple steps you can use to start getting the results you are wanting in the content you create each day.
Now you know how to create content that has purpose and attracts the right people every time rather than sometimes.
Here are your day 2 action task:
Spend about 10-15 mins answering the questions around understanding your ideal client and then another 10-15 mins around your ideal client language.
Use the answers you got from those 2 areas and create a post you would want to share on social media to attract your ideal client.
You don’t have to share it today if you don’t want but I would like to see you share it with us in THE COACHES HANGOUT so we can check out your progress.
