Tech editing services

Are you a knitwear designer looking to get their pattern tech edited? Then you came to the right place!

With background in quality assurance, I'm always ready to look for bugs that are hiding in your pattern or simply look for ways to make the pattern even more accessible.

I offer the following editing services:

  • proofreading
  • fit review and suggestions
  • grading / math checks
  • consistency checks

Together we will make your pattern shine the brightest!

The process

  1. Inquiry. You reach out via email, providing information on your pattern, deadline you have in mind and any information you deem important for me to know for work amount estimations.
  2. Booking. I respond to you with information on when I am able to start working on your pattern, turnaround time and any concerns I might have.
  3. Pattern delivery. You send me the pattern in a format that is easy for review process (for example, Google Docs).
  4. Editing. I go through the pattern, adding changes as suggestions you will be able to approve or dismiss and adding comments with advice on what can be improved. When I am done, I notify you about completion via email.
  5. Review. You go through my suggestions, deciding on what to do with them. After that I take a final look on the revised version (unless there are more changes needed) and give you the "green light".
  6. Payment. After the edit got approved by you, I send you an invoice with work time breakdown and information on ways to complete the payment (note: I am currently only accepting PayPal transfers).
  7. Pre-release checks (free of charge). After you are done with test knitting the pattern, I will be happy to take one final look on your pattern and proofread the changes done to it in scope of test knitting.

Rates and conditions

My fee is 30$ per hour with 10 min increments.

The minimum fee is 15$ which equals 30 min of work.

I can provide an estimate during booking process. In this case I will notify you if the amount of work is exceeding the estimate immediately and will only continue the work after your approval.

The edited version of your pattern is only being stored on my device until the pattern is released so make sure to save your own copy of the edited pattern.

I acknowledge that I do not receive the rights to use your pattern for my personal knitting adventures unless you specifically send me the final pattern as a "thank you".

If you have missed the time that was booked for your pattern and have failed to send the pattern in, I reserve the right to deny rescheduling.

If you cancel your booking and do not notify me at least 24 hours in advance, I expect you to pay a cancelation fee of 15$ (the minimum fee for the tech edit).

If I have missed the turnaround deadline, you are entitled to 50% discount on the full final fee.
