Last night, the stars were quiet.
The moon peeked out only a little, and everything felt… dim. Not scary, just still.
I was curled up near the window when Velora fluttered in.
“There’s someone who needs a little light tonight,” she whispered.
“Someone far away—but connected to you.”
My eyes widened. “How can I help them if I can’t see them?”
Velora smiled and opened her wings. Inside was a tiny lantern, glowing with golden swirls.
“It’s made of your kindness,” she said. “And your courage. And all the ways you’ve made the world a little softer.”

A Lantern Made of Love
I held the lantern close to my heart.
It shimmered with memories:
– When I gave a hug to Maya when she was sad.
– When I let Drew borrow my favorite sparkle pen.
– When I whispered to myself, “You’re doing your best, and that’s enough.”
Velora said that light travels through invisible threads of love.
Even if we don’t see it reach someone, it does.
So I stood beneath the stars, held the lantern high, and whispered:
“This light is for anyone who feels forgotten.
This light is for anyone who feels alone.
This light is for the part of me that still needs hope.”
