Hi, my sweet sparkly friends — it’s me, Lilly. 💛✨
Have you ever felt like… everyone needs something from you all at once? Like you’re being pulled in a hundred directions? That happened to me the other day.
It felt like I was standing still, but a giant invisible octopus had wrapped its long, wiggly tentacles all around me. One was tugging on my time. One was pulling at my smile. Another was grabbing my patience. And another was wrapped around my energy.
I didn’t even see it happening at first.
I just knew I was tired. Like… really, really tired. The kind of tired that makes even the fun stuff feel heavy.
I didn’t want to say “no” — because I love helping. I love cheering up friends, sharing my crayons, and being the one people come to when they feel sad. But this time, something was different.
Even Luna the Unicorn noticed. She gently leaned in and whispered,
“Lilly, when everyone takes from your light, you have to take time to refill your own lantern.”
So I did.
I closed my eyes and imagined the octopus gently letting go, tentacle by tentacle. I imagined hugging it instead of fighting it. I whispered,
“Thank you for showing me that I need a break.”
And then I gave myself the biggest gift: space. ✨
🌸 I drew quiet pictures with no one watching.
🌸 I wrapped myself in my coziest blanket.
🌸 I told someone, “I need a little time to rest.”
🌸 I breathed in sparkles. I breathed out pressure.
And guess what?
The octopus swam away. Not because it was bad, but because I listened to what my heart needed.
You don’t have to be everything for everyone, all the time. Even magical kids like us need boundaries, breaks, and bubble space.
So if you’re feeling like everyone’s pulling at your light, it’s okay to say:
“I need a moment to shine for myself.”
Your light matters. You matter. And you’re allowed to protect your sparkle. 🌟
With gentle courage,
Lilly Emberglow
